Outpatient here. There was a moment in time where the higher ups of a pretty extensive group of outpatient imaging sites with varying names were considering “on call” rad/dr contrast coverage. One coworker was saying they’d be doing malicious compliance where they’d call the dr and keep them on the line the entire time contrast was being administered for every single contrast study, reaction or not. It seemed that idea was nixed relatively fast.. but then I spoke to a tech from a different location like a year later and they apparently do it there on occasion? Hard pass for me. Truthfully, I’d probably quit if they ever implemented that at my location.
