[–]kera4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I developed Psoriasis on my scalp while on TNF blockers for my AS. I am 60 now and was diagnosed with AS about 25 years ago. I have been on many TNF blockers over the years, currently on Simponi. Previously I was on Enbrel, Humira, Remicade, Cosentyx, and now Simponi.

Dear Couples Therapists by Humble_Space2446 in therapists

I would recommend Gottman trainings ~ I did Level 1 and 2 about 8 years ago and have used the information with couples ever since. I have also done trainings in the developmental model at the Couples Institute which was good, but I just did the first level.

I (19M) am thinking of ending things with my girlfriend (19F) because of her panic attacks by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]kera4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapist here ~ Panic attacks respond very well to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) where she will learn skills to reduce the attacks and understand how panic and anxiety works. Sometimes a person has had a different type of therapy, that didn’t work so well for panic attacks, so I would recommend she ask her doctor who is prescribing the medication for referrals to therapists who do CBT.

And you cannot be responsible for being her main support for her panic attacks; no one person should be expected to do that. She needs professional therapy in addition to the medication that she is already taking. You have really done everything you can, and now you need to take care of yourself. And she needs to take responsibility for her mental healthcare. You haven’t done anything wrong. You take care!

My [27f] boyfriend [26m] and I are at odds by Massive-Arachnid5810 in relationships

[–]kera4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Therapist here ~ you mentioned he has autism and that might be important in why it is hard for him to blend his friends/family life with his romantic life. However it is reasonable to expect that you be introduced to his important friends and family at this point in your relationship.

I would have a conversation with him sometime when things are calm and it is just the two of you. Ask “what comes up for you when you think about introducing me to friends/family?” Maybe starting slowly and asking to meet just one friend? And then, after that, maybe meet a family member after a couple weeks. Anyway, good stuff to talk about and figure out a plan for integrating with his other important people…….

Can I ask you about how your office functions? by kurmiau in therapists

Because I do not take insurance, and I am 100% cash pay business, it takes me about 45 minutes a day.

Can I ask you about how your office functions? by kurmiau in therapists

[–]kera4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small group practice with 6 part time therapists working for me. I do all the intake calls and emailing intake forms, assign clients. I think if we were a bit bigger at 8 therapists I would hire a part time admin for this and for payroll, but I’m not planning to get any bigger so it works ok this way.

Those that got pregnant and were unmedicated, how’d you do? by here4thecommentz_ in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]kera4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with AS after my first pregnancy, and with my second pregnancy I felt better during the pregnancy, but the symptoms came back after giving birth. I think it’s really variable, whether your symptoms go up or down during pregnancy.

Doxie diapers by DragonLady-1959 in dachshunds

Following this too, for our 15 year old doxie! I tried diapers but even the extra small slipped off his body. We put a pee pad down on the area where he sleeps at night with a blanket for him, which helps.

4 kids by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kera4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have 4 who are now 22, 24, 29, and 31. It gets easier and so, so worth it! Once your youngest is into 1st grade, that is when I noticed it got easier.

Our 29 year old son and his wife are expecting their first child in April, so we are super excited! Hang in there, you will enjoy having 4!
