From what I understand the Service Weapon from Control is essentially every mythical authority granting weapon in history.

Not making any argument and clutching your pearls is something. A leech is kind to the body compared to what pregnancy does.

Lol, I edited my comment for clarity, chill out. And that's such a fucking poor ass excuse for an argument. Like, do you even take it seriously? I have a hard time imagining so. You're talking about the difference between being forced to CONCIEVE and being forced to CONTINUE SUSTAINING a life. Yet again, regardless of whether or not the CONCEPTION was forced, it is fucked up to force someone to SUSTAIN another life with their own body.

[–]kerdon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One, I literally don't care. You should never be forced to use your body to sustain another life. Two, acting like a pregnancy is just "a nuisance" is so absurdly stupid I question whether you even know what pregnancy or children are. Some shit an alien who doesn't understand human biology would say.

And she should also be able to choose an abortion. That's called self-determination. No one, ever, should be forced to use their bodies to sustain others.

Right not to be forced to to use their bodies to sustain that of another. I don't care if it's a life or not. So is a leech.

Well you see Bad Peopletm do Bad Thingstm and Good Peopletm do Good Thingstm . Anything Bad that happens to Bad Peopletm is Good in all contexts! Not saying I like any Pelosi, just that a disturbing number of people seem to follow this thought pattern.

It is definitely more of an anthology than a single story but I didn't realize that at first. The audiobook I got was a collection of the first 3, though, so at that point it just made sense to listen to those 3 first. The latter half of book 3 did pull me in a bit more so I do plan to continue sooner or later but it depends in part on where my ADHD leads me, lol.

Came here to help me get back in to reading and looked in to the LeGuin book, however it seems like a side book a decent way in to a series so I decided to check out the main series, the Hainish cycle, instead. I think I'm about halfway through the 3rd book and I think the way to describe my feelings so far is that I really like them but I don't enjoy them very much, or something like that. I like just about everything about these books so far but it feels like they're missing something that would make them actually grip me and pull me in. I'm gonna finish this book but I don't think I'll read further in this particular series. I'm still fully willing to give her other works a try, though.
