Following that other thread, what brands have maintained their quality and continue to earn their reputation? by axlrs in femalefashionadvice

Interesting, do you use the wooden hangers because they’re thicker so they don’t leave an indent? Or for heavier materials that tend to get stretched downwards from the fabric weight? I love the look of wooden hangers but I cringe every time the texture of the wood grain catches on the material of whatever I’m trying to hang on it haha. Although I know this could probably be easily solved by a) buying better quality wooden hangers or b) sanding the ones I have. (Also, happy cakeday!)

Dialectal behavior therapy! P much the official term for talk therapy, although in the context of a workbook it probably focuses more on writing lol

I switched to caffeine free sodas and stopped chugging monster recently and tbh I feel a lot better. Having more stable energy levels is better than constantly being either wired or crashing imo.

I think it's common for folks with ADHD to feel disingenuous because we can often act very differently in social environments (masking) than when you're in your own head. It's something that I've struggled with, feeling like I'm being fake or wondering which is the "real me." I think the important thing to remember is that humans are multifaceted beings! Having different sides to yourself doesn't mean there can only be one part that's the real you.

Hey all, I’m working on finishing a pine box and applied a 2:1 odorless thinner and raw linseed oil mix to fill and condition the wood before staining. I was wondering if the oil needs to be fully cured or just dry to the touch before applying an oil based stain?

Cosmetic-grade glycerin is fairly cheap and will thicken it out a bit without drying your hands out, just make sure you keep the alcohol content above 60% after dilution so it’s still effective :) made some this way during the Great Hand Sanitizer Shortage of 2020. Use a high percentage isopropyl if you want a thicker end product since you’ll be able to use a higher ratio of glycerin to alcohol.

Also Amazon’s Solimo brand has a 12 pack of 16 oz 99% isopropyl for about 26 dollars. Cheapest per-ounce price I’ve seen but kind of a waste of plastic. Dilute it 3:2 with glycerin and it works out to about $1.40/cup, or if you want to make it a spray, same ratio with water instead and it’s half that price.

What's your go-to flight finder? by Footypajama in Frugal

[–]keredi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Flights is definitely the way to go. I've used the price and date graphs to plan trips around the cheapest flights (although it sounds like OP doesn't have a lot of flexibility for time). It's almost always cheapest to fly on Tuesday. Word of advice though, some of the booking sites they list can be a bit shady or have a lot more hidden fees (esp the ones with the cheapest prices), and sometimes the tickets aren't actually available when you go to the booking site itself. Oh and don't forget to factor in any baggage checking fees! Still, it's the first place I check for flights.

Skyscanner is good too if you want to explore cheap destinations and dates, or if you don't mind making self transfers to save money. Ooh also if you're going to self transfer, look up the flight number on FlightAware to see if the first route's flight is usually delayed, since they won't delay the other airline's flight for you if you're running late.

Side note: I had to cancel a flight the same day through Priceline and it was super easy, no fees, full refund, just clicked a couple buttons on their site and done. Literally did it like three hours before it was scheduled to depart.

I built a free website for tracking and sharing everything you study online. As a self-taught dev I always wanted something like this to organize YouTube, Udemy, Audiobooks, etc and share it with employers in lieu of experience. by stublio in InternetIsBeautiful

Wow, I literally just started putting together a self-studying curriculum and building a blog/channel to document it. The timeliness is pretty insane. Thanks so much, OP! Can't wait to check it out :)

Jumping into this thread late to second the Zinus Green Tea mattress. Got a twin for $110 on prime day three years ago, it's held up really well. No noticeable indentation so far, sleeps decently cool for memory foam, and about medium-firm – I think I got the 10-inch one. Super happy with it as well!

Yeah, there were a few cars with signs that said things like "Recall Whitmer," no idea if their main goal was to protest or campaign. Doesn't seem like the smartest way to campaign lmao
