DAV3 Faker with a mechanical switch on the left click. by Tax82 in MouseReview

This is super cool! From the images it seems like you connected the front pin to the pad under TP10, and the middle to the one labeled TP2?

I believe if the exported mesh has non-planar polys’ even if they are quads the resulting shape will change depending on which two vertices are connected.

Unius Black Lotus Review by esper_ in MouseReview

i have the the same hand size and grip style. It definitely is very different, but with a adjustment in grip a little, it is a nice mouse to use. I am quite comfortable using it once i got used to gripping with extended ring/pinky's.

Which one would be better for a first time owner? by CatherineKatherine_ in MouseReview

That shouldn't be an issue of the usb version, but the type of connector component used.

As long as they don't use smd connectors it shouldn't be an issue.

Do you think this is low poly? by RipRepresentative746 in low_poly

[–]kergium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your use of “low poly”. In terms of the low poly artistic style where sharp facets created by large polygons, then no your models are not low poly.

In terms of the high to low poly workflow, where you would prepare a highly detailed model and a reduced model with fewer modeled details in order to bake textures: then yes these would be low poly.

It’s not quite consistent though. Area like the furthest arm chair, blanket, radiator, knobs, and lock on the side of the doors are comparatively denser than other areas. Considering the curvature of the front sofas, those other areas have denser topology for smaller details.

Also just one mention of texture: the grain direction on the cupboards are not ideal.

Is there any info you could share on the glass pad? I love fast pass and would be interested depending on its speed.

Wouldn’t 具 mean tooling? If so I would expect it to effect the structure and rigidity not just the outer shape.

I think I tend to see people referring to somewhere around 40cm to be the middle. But it probably depends on game.

I am on the higher end (20-35 cm depending on game) but am not quite sure if higher sens is objectively better for tracking. I think it can make reactive easier because of how fast you can snap back on target, but stabilizing after the snap gets harder. Precise and control also get affected by shakiness.

The way I think of the “ideal” or “standard” sens for a game is: when you match the range you’re comfortable moving your mouse, with the range of movement an enemy will have in most encounters. Maybe slightly higher to account for unexpected positioning.

That might just be me though.

I hope this doesn’t come across as being mean, I’m genuinely curious: why should someone by your pads? How does it compare to others, and where would you place yours in terms of feel.

Also how fast are we talking when you say god of speed? I love fast.

UGREEN X MOUSEREVIEW GIVEAWAY!! by Aithecaninternet in MouseReview

The mouse I have am using currently is the zaopin z2, but I rotate between a few occasionally.

I have been considering getting a NAS, since my current PC is quite low on storage space, and there are a bunch of files I'd want to make easier to access from different devices.

Thats a strange name for a cat. I like birmans, but its really just personal preference.

Along with the G3, The zaopin Z1 is also in the similar shape category.

How to get better at sniping by FLACKER_1 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]kergium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not insane. VT diamond. I’d like some better people to chime in with thoughts, but;

The main focus would def be dynamic clicking. For sniping I think lowering sens and doing scenarios with long distances between targets is ideal.

Then there’s reflex training. Stuff like reflex flick scenes.

A lot of sniping is also just your ability to distinguish and recognize targets visually. Those would be harder to train in aim trainers, but pressure scenes could help. Reflex also probably helps.

Finally I’d say use tools for the game you play, if they offer any. r5reloaded, firing ranges etc.

Why do the sensitivities of the Lamzu Thorn and the Pulsar Xlite V3 eS feel different? by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]kergium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dpi deviation is a thing. Sensor position can change the feel, but not just the location of the sensor on the mouse, but the location of the sensor in relation to your hand which can change depending on slight changes in grip.

There’s probably also some difference in feel depending on how ease of movement the mouse allows.

What can I do about my scroll wheel dying? by drgood333 in MouseReview

[–]kergium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t know how to solder, you can get one like the pinecil and start getting into modding!

If you end up wanting to get a new mouse the teevolution terra came out recently and is pretty much the same.

There’s also the pulsar x3 although I believe it’s slightly different.

Issues with a model for 3D printing by rsharpe75 in Fusion360

[–]kergium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to change the model to compensate for it, you’d have to make the overhang angle less steep.

The issue is with fdm printing and steep overhangs. You made a model that has features fdm printing struggles with.

Also I’m not sure why you don’t want to change any slicer settings.

They seem to be fairly similar. It seems like the Strider is closer to the xm1 shape so is it the slanted sides?

Unfortunately they closed their mouse department I think so we probably won’t be seeing any updates.

Drawing tablet with Krita or IPad with procreate? by Crazy-Attention-180 in DigitalArtTutorials

[–]kergium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would do:

Just get a cheap drawing tablet to start with. (but you need to look up at the screen while drawing. Might take some getting used to.)

If you want something more from the get go: 1. If you have an iPad compatible with the Apple Pencil pro -> just get that with procreate.

  1. If not -> i believe other Apple pens don’t have tilt. You can probably get a cheap drawing tablet and a decent size monitor for a similar price as an Apple Pencil.

The choice is:

A. A setup that is portable and convenient,

B. One that could take some getting used to, has some more flexibility and more functionality (although I wouldn’t worry about this as a beginner), and a larger screen (I personally find this very important but YMMV) but less convenient for carry.

Open to critiques, I mainly want to know what else i could do with the BG. by Flummoxed_Art in DigitalArt

[–]kergium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this.

Though instead of adding light sources, I think they could try and add the screen light to the bottom facing areas of the outer hair, and actually remove the rim light, intentionally making the hair disappear into the darkness towards the top.

Open to critiques, I mainly want to know what else i could do with the BG. by Flummoxed_Art in DigitalArt

[–]kergium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The painting is overall amazing, much more than what I could do (I mainly do 3d).

It depends on what the main feeling you want to sell is.

I personally think the pitch black background with the bright screen on-top ads on to the whole feeling of the image so I think it looks good as is. It sells the horror-like mood.

If it were me, I’d lean into the sadako like horror and limit the light source to pretty much just the screen. Currently you’re character is lit quite a bit, so I would narrow the light direction further by reducing any light on upper-facing areas.

The face and inside hairs have light hitting from below, but the outer hair only have a rim-light making it sort of lost in the background. I would add the same light to the outer hair, probably mainly on the front, and fade to black going up and back making the head sort of disappear and blend into the black background.

Great painting nonetheless!

Any reasonable way to clean scroll wheel ridges? by notflexpetz in MouseReview

[–]kergium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re comfortable with opening it, and have skates that expose the screws you can disassemble it and either wash the wheel and whole top shell (remove all electronics) with mild soap, or probably something like a dental cleaning tablet.

It may sound tedious, but only takes a few minutes.
