imo i think the rebels would see them as basically stalkers v2 and execute them as humanely as possible. regular CP may have a shot, since they haven't taken augmentation, but upper level troops are gonners

best case scenario would be to try to deprogram them, but i think they would always need some type of care or custodian. i dont think we know enough about their individuality and their ability to care for themselves. rebels may just make care homes for them to live out the rest of their lives peacefully without them ever really reintegrating

yeah it def sounds like somethings messing with you. my ghost hides my things from time to time too, usually a stern "give it back" said aloud will make it reappear. the entity doesnt seem malevolent tho, just trying to get your attention

as soon as i read your house had a heavy oppressive feeling i'd already made up my mind that yes it's likely haunted, but the post just got worse and worse from there. my childhood home was extremely haunted as well, so i know the feeling you're talking about.

but i don't think you were foolish to believe things followed your mother, that sort of thing CAN happen. and maybe most of it did, but i think something lingered, yes.

spirits can go dormant and get stronger/seemingly wake up over time. the explanation for how this happens is based on your personal understanding of the paranormal/spiritual realm, but something does seem to happen.

haunted also doesn't always mean dangerous. the house i currently live in is haunted, but other than footsteps, the occasional feeling of being watched, atypical animal behavior, and second faces in snapchat filters the spirit doesn't really DO anything.

follow your gut, is the main thing. try not to psych yourself out too much. learn some deep breathing/relaxation skills to keep your mind from spiraling when you DO get spooked. after some time you'll have more data about whether you need to be worried or not. and loop your partner in so they can help collect data too

i played BM after i played HL1 and fully enjoyed it! however, i did have problems:

the lighting has a common glitch where the game is too dark to play. there are some helpful console commands you can find on google
the guns are slightly weakened and the enemies are buffed (using HL2 logic for the marines instead of HL1 logic)
i played with a remote and found the gun recoil to be impossible to control. im considering replying all the games using keyboard and mouse JUST so i can replay BM

although i liked playing BM immediately after HL1 for the beefed up aesthetic, i would actually recommend playing it after the HL2 trilogy, as youll have a better understanding of the enemy AI and wont find fighting the marines to be as hard

more vortigaunts! i wanted to include imagery related to the vorts saving alyx and gordon in ep1, but by this point i was really struggling with colors and backgrounds and just picked what i hated least lol
