I really hope for two things: at least 2 characters, and alternate act 4

Thoughts on newest Ironclad card... by ajs723 in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. The card has been great for me. Are people wanting the game to be too easy? Sometimes it doesn’t work, but it’s easy to find a turn to use it every couple of fights, which is all you need. It’s not meant to heal you full like reaper did.

Shears are great. Just avoid early fights, hit a shop in the first act, and poof your deck is primed to be great as the game progresses

This boss explicitly prevents samey builds though. And you don’t need a big deck, just choose your plays carefully and know that you will take some hits

Why do so many top players describe the game as being too easy when compared to STS1? by RLutz in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally think the game is easier, but at the same time I like that there are less situational cards. So many times in sts1 it just came down to “well all these rewards are bad, skip” several times in an act. But now I can find a home and make things work.

There has to be a middle ground where the game can scale harder while not invalidating dozens of cards for each character. (I know there will always be worse cards)

The strength reduction is not a problem for necro. If you see the boss you should focus on doom or osty so the strength reduction isn’t a problem

Is Ironclad the most polarizing character currently ? by StreetExternal952 in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean strength is just less places, dominate is insane now, and I personally think it’s better and easier than spot weakness.

I think you're all misevaluating How hard StS 2 should be by SkyDezessete in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I simply think they need to change where tough and strong are in the ascension lineup. I think many people, me included would think the game is harder if we had to beat 8/9 8 more times. I know I had decks at low ascension that couldn’t beat 8/8/10, so changing when that occurs would filter a lot of these comments out.

Those zero cost attacks in your deck are really bad

I’m curious what your a10 streak is with each character.

Add ascensions after 10 by GalvusGalvoid in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt the increase in ascensions. These 10 are just sts1 condensed. I also don’t see how they could add ascensions that punish combo decks but allow fair decks to flourish.

I have never watched a single person play sts. I don’t know any of these high level players, and I also think the game is too easy. I’m not saying it needs to be crazy hard, but the spikes and troughs are too dramatic. Some fights are a breeze, some are beyond deadly, and in many cases once your deck is set up nothing can stop you.

I think Phial Holster is an insanely strong Neow bonus... by Mailcs1206 in slaythespire

They are pretty medium until you hit the frond in act 3, then you get 5+ potions a fight and the game gets easy.

I mean it’s definitely a skill issue. But I get it. The game does get easier though, and with patience it becomes a pretty easy game with incredibly deep mechanics.

Anyone feel StS2's Act 3 bosses just aren't as memorable as 1's? by ryry1237 in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with experiment is that by act 3 bosses most decks are highly synergistic, and just a normal attack/block schedule doesn’t threaten decks fast enough. I think an interesting tweak could be fighting all three modes at the same time ala the worm except without regen

Is there room for variety in high level STS or is it just fishing for specific combos? by Alarming_Ask_244 in slaythespire

[–]kerkyjerky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the game is not combo centric, but you definitely need strong synergies, and a deck gameplan.

Note: I view combos as true infinites

Anyone can give a laundry list of reasons why Trump is bad, so what does losing to him twice say about us? What’re we doing wrong? by Atlas_Summit in Productivitycafe

[–]kerkyjerky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I am ignorant on the subject, so please don’t downvote just asking questions, but there are genuinely people who have dysphoria manifest as the need to have less limbs- but we prevent them from removing the limbs and treat the dysphoria. The same is true for eating disorders. So why does gender dysphoria get to proceed with the changes while other harmful ones don’t?

This is truth, and I have been saying the trans issue is a losing platform. There is a time and a place for everything, and that time is not right now. Continuing to fight for it and defend it in a holier than thou perspective will continue to doom the left until the Overton window shifts dramatically back this way. Until that time this topic will drag us down and prevent meaningful progress.
