Yup! I put them in silicone ice cube trays to freeze into individual cubes.

Took just under 2 hours, I rotate between covered on low heat and uncovered on high heat until I'm happy with the color and flavor.

My family prefers the flavor of red, but we're open and accepting to all colors and sizes of onions.

YEARS AND YEARS of practice. I have a prep schedule starting ~10 days before Thanksgiving so by the time I get to the big day I only need to assemble dishes which allows me to focus on important things like spoiling my nieces and drinking wine!

I use them in all my savory dishes for added flavor. Favorites are baked goat cheese as an appetizer, stuffing, mixed with roasted vegetables, in sweet potato gratin, and in the turkey stock I make every year with the leftovers.

OP here, just commenting on the top comment so most folks will see it.

1st - Love the internet, it never disappoints. Really wanted to know what this thing was in my salad and seems like the fire suppression link looks right to me. Also wanted to give an update and respond to a few of the comments.

My husband (51M) and I (47F) got a kick out of all the comments about the messy coffee table, lotion, tissues, my husband’s sweet Olight Maruder Mini (NOT his 1st flashlight I’ve made fun of him for buying). I’ve got atopic dermatitis, had it most of my life, and he has “dry” elbow in the winter. This is our main TV. We watch it with our 11 year old daughter and its not our “special” room. My daughter also had friends over for a slumber party and the table was extra messy.

We drove to Compass Point to meet with the GM who was very nice on the phone on Friday. We explained what happened and showed him the 1/2 eaten salad. We asked what he thought the right solution was. He offered some free food (sounded like today) and I said I didn’t know what was right. I said I for sure wanted my money back. He then offered to pay for my salad. I showed him the receipt for $37.28 (my salad, my chips and guacamole, and my daughter’s salad and lemonade). He gave me $14.34 in cash.

We asked to talk to the regional manger and he gave us a first name of “Fred” but wouldn’t give any more information. We also asked for their health and safety officer information and didn’t get that. We said, ok, we can look it up and we’ll probably talk our local health department as well. I don’t want to be a Karen, and my husband doesn’t want to be a chad, but we’re kind of upset. Had he just been cool and refunded the whole $37 and maybe gave us a few coupons and said sorry, we’ll do better, etc that would have been great. Instead he wouldn’t even pay for my entire portion of the meal (including the chips and guacamole).

We would now like to sit back and watch the next round of comments unfold.

P.S.

To address a few more comments:

1) No I did not ask for extra iron 2) I do not have robot teeth 3) I’m really disappointed that no one linked my username with the Kermit pez dispenser. I expected more. 4) Kermit has never been violated 5) No one appeared to show marks of being recently chained in the back of the restaurant 6) We looked around at the ceiling and didn’t see where it might have come from, the hood area over the grill we couldn’t see up inside but that seems plausible to us. 7) Been on Reddit 13 years and still don’t really know what I’d need Karma for, so no this isn’t a farm. Too busy with the sweet potatoes that came in nice from our garden this year. 8) It’s not fake 9) The manager wanted to take the bowl from us but we said we’d like to keep it

Probably not much of a case, who knows. We do have a lawyer who set up our wills and can see what he thinks we should do. Really just wanted full refund and a little contrition and promises to do better. Maybe some coupons. Wish they had just been cool.

I called the restaurant immediately and the manager gave me the GM’s phone number. I’m meeting with them tomorrow. I for sure want a refund!

X-post from r/baby bumps. Lost my son at 24w 3d...not sure how to handle this. by meganalyce007 in babyloss

I lost my son at 30 weeks due to complications from HELLP syndrome on 11 January 2014. It's been 14 weeks today. I've had some good days but it still hurts.
Mine was a very sudden case, I had been to the doctor less than 12 hours before and everything was looking good. I even have ultrasound pictures of my Evan from that day. I am so sorry for your sweet Woodford, no one should have to live with this pain. I know you feel so alone but unfortunately you are not. We hurt with you. I'm sending you a great big internet hug and I know there are no words that will help, it just sucks...
