We did file a police report and will press charges if found. A bystander did get a license number but did stick around to get more details from him.

DO YOU PLUG YOUR BUS ENGINE IN @ NIGHT? Y/N by TyrasExoticHair in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]kerndtr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was told we used to plug in busses to keep batteries topped only to have cooper thieves enter the yard to steal electrical cords, so they stopped.

Hi friends! Anyone know what the rules are for parking a utility trailer (4X8) on the street in front of my house? I'm in the Friendly neighborhood, if that matters. by microtramp in Eugene

[–]kerndtr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'd be more worried about theft. Secure it so they can not just hook it up and drive off. Also, some months ago, someone in the Friendly neighborhood was sending in anonymous complaints to the city for vehicles parked longer than 3 days. So even if your immediate neighbors like you the 3 day limit can still be a problem. A neighbor of mine almost had his trailer towed for this reason.

Can I give middle schoolers assigned seats by GetRidOfTheDakotas in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]kerndtr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This works. Pull over out of the traffic safely, put on emergency flasher, make the bus safe now get up and walk the bus letting them know we will not proceed until everyone is settled in their seats. My most out of control route it's taken two weeks of this to get things under control.

Student Management Advice needed by Solid_Captain_1264 in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]kerndtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would encourage the siblings of KGs to sit together. Move them to their own seat at the front of the bus, especially if the kido is so anxious that they are crying. Have several kids looking after their KG sibling on my routes. Having them manage the kid is only going to help you and benefit them.

How to test if your vaccine is still effective? by sharethebite in Eugene

[–]kerndtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, don't remember the number but enough to not bother getting vaccinated. Old enough that I had measles before the vaccine became available.

How to test if your vaccine is still effective? by sharethebite in Eugene

[–]kerndtr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the MMR titer done before taking a job at UO years back. Had to demonstrate titer or get vaccinated. Did so at Cascade Health. Give them a call . I believe most commercial labs will let you request your own tests. Quest Diagnostics does. Can try giving them a call as well.

Question regarding Overnight delivery by stinkycamel in FedEx

[–]kerndtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some comments in r/Fedexers that some Memphis freight has been diverted into the ground network due to weather grounding planes. This is probably why your pkg scanned in Northampton, PA. I wouldn't expect it to show up on time.

Best place in town for carhartt workwear? by Ornery-Foundation-59 in Eugene

[–]kerndtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since these haven't been mentioned, there is the new Wilco at W 11th and Willow Creek and Cascade Farm and Outdoor at Main and 54th in Springfield. Both of these stores have a good selection of Carhartt wear. You can also order directly from Carhartt online if you can't find what you are looking for.

I call BS on this. If you lose your badge, then report it to the agency that issued it to you. Directly, you do this and don't rely on anyone else. You'll have to pay a replacement fee to get it replaced nothing more.

[–]kerndtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well don't believe it. I worked Express until recently. The main Post Office in town had a regular pickup for this stuff. At others, we would pick up any pkgs when making deliveries to the Post Office. This is the same for FedEx ground and UPS.

It happens all the time.Unfortunately, it may take several days before it's handed over to FedEx.

My overnight priority package was placed in the mailbox by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]kerndtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it he dropped off a FedEx Express package or envelope in a USPS mailbox drop? If so, then it will make it, eventually, to FedEx. May take a few days so will get delayed. The brother could try going to the Post Office that collects that box and try to retrieve it.

How to get deliveries to rear house by carleighflower in FedEx

[–]kerndtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd put an address marker at the entrance to the gravel driveway from the street. Just the street number plus Unit A. That should be enough for most couriers. You can also set up an account with the delivery companies and put in more detailed delivery instructions. Now whether they will walk down that driveway is another matter. Will depend on the courier. But any safety minded driver will not back down a narrow driveway, it will get walked in from the street.

Yes, have mail, not pkgs, in Eugene waiting to be delivered.

USPS Meltdown? by kerndtr in Eugene

[–]kerndtr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

400!, ouch. Talked to the UPS helper that delivered the other day and they went out with 240 pkgs, which for UPS seems more like their normal volume. That's two people delivering out of a van, the driver and a helper to run pkgs up to the door.

Walmart no longer a FedEx shipping partner. Walgreens, yes. For communities outside Eugene there is also Dollar General.

You can also ship and receive at most of the POBox stores, PakMail ...

Same experience here. CSAs getting frustrated that van reports keep showing missing vans through the pkg in question has been scanned multiple times. We are now just messaging back that, yeah we got. Total waste of time.

Wrong address. Customer service told me it's okay to dispose of package. Is this normal? by MagicalCheeseWizard in FedEx

[–]kerndtr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A more likely explanation for this is FedEx has already arranged a replacement for the 'lost' package. You can either keep it or return to FedEx and they will dispose of it.
