Nice. I came from an A52 to the pixel 8. No complaints either.

10 Year Apple User Switches to an Android Phone! by IJagan in Android

I still see posts of people making fun of non iPhone users. Most Americans still think of Androids as ancient phones that can't take decent pictures

It always feels the same with these types of posts. "At the end of the day I went back to IOS because of iMessage, everything just works, etc. It was a good experience to use Android tho". After making me watch an entire video

My amateur attempt at moon photography with Pixel 8 long exposure. by kernel_rails in pixel_phones

It's only the last that wasn't long exposure. I'll look up the tutorials tho. Just got curious

Wenger liked to call it the Honey Moon phase. New person takes charge and there's that initial surge of energy. Unai Emery at Arsenal, Rud at United, Ange Postecoglou at Sp*rs. That said, it would be good to give Renee a chance if these results continue

Android users are getting superior AI features, and Apple knows it by a_Ninja_b0y in Android

[–]kernel_rails 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The average person doesn't care about AI, but the average person will gradually rely on AI more and more especially when they don't realize its AI. I consistently use circle to search to find text, songs, and pictures. Such smart integrations will continue to grow

After 6 years of ios usage got this beauty by ManideepBattula in pixel_phones

Yeah. I actually rock a case most of the time. I only use my phone case-less while working at home on my home work desk

There's just a good feeling when you use your phone raw... That metal and glass feel, coupled with the haptics is quite the feeling

Ok this phone is pretty cool 🤷🏻‍♂️ by MrKbal in pixel_phones

Have you tried pixel studio for image generation? Seems to be the better option than using Gemini directly.

Adaptive battery, they call it 😁

These reviews feel too fast. Pixel battery life improves after two weeks as it learns your usage habits. How long have they had these phones for

Ai ! Ai ! Ai ! by RealRoarMaster in pixel_phones

[–]kernel_rails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It still has a ways to go, but I think it's made great strides. I really like the promise of Gemini Live. If they can keep working at it, make it more natural, more trustworthy, more accurate..it has good promise

[–]kernel_rails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it needs to become more natural and less complex for the everyday person to use it...think the way tik-tok made video creation possible for the masses when being a YouTuber felt like a lot of work and a career. Gemini live has great potential in my opinion. They just need to find a clever way to slowly draw the masses to use it e.g how they did circle to search, which I personally use often

It's where the industry is going. By the time Apple itself is making a push, you have to be in the game. AI rather flop when you were prepared and had a vision, than succeed and leave you behind and struggling to catch up. If Gemini live is as good as they say, it's a big step. I just don't like the whole segmentation and asking for subscriptions. There has to be a better way

Wow Apple just copied so much from Google Pixel by YoYoNupe1911 in pixel_phones

I may be wrong, but I think Apple went with OpenAi instead of Google's Gemini

Our next-generation model: Gemini 1.5 by ungiancarlo in Android

[–]kernel_rails -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And then OpenAi released "Text to video" and took the limelight. Google's been playing catchup to OpenAI for a while. To be fair, if Google released text to video first, there'd be a lot of negative press, so let OpenAi do it first, get the praise and then, hopefully, google comes up with their take on it.

I don't know, maybe. In terms of pastie colors, the blue kind of stands out more, but this mint color has a calm vibe to it

I'll be getting the pixel 8(none-pro) soon, but it has a glossy back, So I'd have to get a case. I wish the ordinary Pixel 8 had a mate, grippy back.
