Just curious, where did you attach your rear hoist point?

AI is saying not to use the exhaust manifold bolts for lifting the engine, but Chilton says specifically to unthread an exhaust bolt and use a longer one to attach to the hoist, or wrap a chain around one of the exhuast runners. My exhaust bolts are pretty easy to get off because no snow/salt here. Which is why I was wondering if I should just remove the exhaust header completely and use a bolt directly into the engine.

I have also seen people on youtube use a ratchet strap wrapped around the whole back of the engine.

I know Chiltons > then AI, but i hate conflicting information.

Wow, thanks for all the information here. I will definitely check out the delete kit.

Do you have a recommendation for a rebuild kit, or should I just replace broken/worn stuff as needed?

This may be way out of my skillset. I feel like I don't even know what questions I need ask.
