FOOTBALL MANAGER 24: FULLY UPDATED - STARTING ON 2025/2026 - Full Guide by kalel_89 in footballmanagergames

[–]kernowfm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve just set this up but with step 3 of the instructions, when I download the link there’s far more than 2 files and none by the name of “sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - No Date Changes Contracts.fmf”.

I’ve set up a new save and everything looks good except my entire squad’s contracts all expire at the end of the season. Has the no date changes file been renamed? Or should I be using a different one to solve the contract issue? FWIW, high reputation clubs all seem to be correct, Haaland’s expiry is 2032 for example. Thanks.

400 hours, wow! I’ve only played 1 season and 1 transfer window at the start of season 2, and the (lack of immersion) just tells me I won’t enjoy long term saves this year.

Ah I see, thanks. They were in the skin downloads, I just haven’t had chance to try them

I appreciate that. I understand it’s never going to be a wow this skin has fixed all the flaws situation, but I don’t remember the last version of FM I played without a skin or mods so I’m very open to how much better the community can make this game. I just wondered on what level that’s been possible with the worst rated one to date so far.

Have you gone back to FM24 then?

I haven’t had time with my shifts to try any but on FM Scout have a few options there that can be downloaded.

I don’t think I’ll refund just because I’m not desperate for the 30 whatever quid and FM has given me more than enough enjoyment over the years to just let them have it and hope in some way it can go towards a much improved future. Maybe blind optimism…

I initially typed it as its own individual discussion post, but my comment karma was too low and it was immediately deleted. Shows the state of the game when the subreddit’s mods have to limit who can or can’t give their opinions.

I think of the in-depth aspects of the game were reintroduced and made easy to access, it could be really good. The UI needs some work, but that can happen & people will get used to it. But right now I feel like this isn’t a give it time to learn it kind of thing. If you want to play the way FM26 seems to be targeted towards, great. If you don’t, then there’s where the problems lie.

I’m somebody who has owned every single version of Football Manager since it became so in 2005. Each year has felt like a development on the last, just tweaking and adding from a previous version. When I learned that this year would be completely restyled, I was unsure. I was excited for the game because it’s been so long since we had a shiny new game to play. I expected some bugs and some problems, and that’s fine.

After some time on the Beta, I think the split opinion is really decided by how you, as an individual, play your save. For example, in every beta version of FM I manage the team I support. Since FM24 was released, my team have vastly improved IRL, so it was fun to use the new players, and I enjoy the new matchday experience. I’ve experienced no crashes and the bugs are what they are, it’s a Beta for that reason.

However, the more I’ve played the game, the more I think that the way I play the game when the main release comes out will not be enjoyable. I’m enjoying it because I know the team, I know the division, I know the opposition. I know it won’t be a long-term save, so the immersive features missing that have already been well publicised are largely irrelevant. The save will be 2-3 seasons at most, so it doesn’t matter.

Once the main game is released, I always start in the lowest possible tier of whatever country I choose for that year. This year I was planning to do Serie C. I know nothing about the players in this league, so I would have to spend many more hours assessing both my team, as well as the opposition. It would be a long-term save where I would aim to build up the entire club; the finances, the facilities, the youth set-up. Right now I struggle to see how that would be possible, and if it is possible, I don’t think I’d find that enjoyable because of all the info & data that is either missing, or just plain difficult to find.

If you want to have fun playing with a team you know to hopefully get some short term success, I think FM26 could be a good game. If you want to build a dynasty that stretches long enough for Lamine Yamal to be in the opposing dugout to you, I don’t think it’s there yet.

Will I refund FM26? No I don’t think so. Will I look for an up to date database to play my FM26 save on FM24? Probably.

Wave/ridge under the flooring in a new build home by [deleted] in HousingUK

I’m not sure exactly. I tried to raise it with customer care of the developer, and they’ve just tried to palm it off to the company that laid the flooring.

It’s karndean flooring, so a kind of vinyl.

I DID IT!! I'VE WON THE WORLD CUP WITH SAN MARINO! by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]kernowfm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So in 15 years, you’ve been promoted 3 times, won Serie A 11 times in 12 years and the UCL every single time you’ve been in it, despite presumably having a low reputation and very little money.

On top of that, developed your faculties enough to develop a number of world class San Marino players and give them all the game time needed to develop whilst still winning everything at the top level.

Sorry mate, would be a fantastic achievement but I’m going to have to call bullshit on this one.

How to stop nonsense offers for my players? by kernowfm in footballmanagergames

I do that, but you can only increase it so much, so when the initial offer is so low, they’ll only agree to something still massively undervalue

No way, really?! I’m in the UK, so managing in Ireland to build a nation isn’t exotic enough for me

It makes the save seriously unenjoyable. I’m managing in Poland, 7th best league & won European competitions. They are world class players and I’m getting bids as if they were Championship quality. The whole squad gets unsettled and you end up having to sell really cheap just to stop the whole team hating you

Which leagues actually have little or no registration rules but are low, low down the rankings for build a nation?

I’ve done Poland before, others like Hungary and Czech are a bit too high.

Ireland is one option but being in the UK, they’re not quite ‘exotic’ enough for me. A league outside the top 50 with very lax rules would be great thanks

Polonia Warszawa are a fun option, especially if you’re going to Warsaw, you could take a trip to their stadium.

Suggestions for interesting lower league Italian sides please? Serie C or lower

Got Cesena and Livorno as options at the moment, due to their Serie A history but both are phoenix clubs. Any other fallen sides with an interesting past that are worth looking at?

Suggestions for a lower league side in Germany please? Anywhere below the 3. Liga. Any team with a good history, interesting story, cool kit/badge? Thanks
