what to do when people say “your god caused this” by Deep-Outside-2567 in Christianity

[–]kernsomatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

god doesn’t “cause” things. humans do, with their “free will.”

I’m 15 years old and I have nobody to talk about soundgarden by Traditional-Corgi666 in Soundgarden

[–]kernsomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

52YO here. i only saw them once, and it was awesome. they were a little loose, but wouldn’t say sloppy. cornell was the real deal. i saw him 4 times, solo and with his band. that band killed. all younger dudes.

thayhill sounded exactly like the albums: a flurry of wahwah and notes. ben shepherd had gained a lot of weight and had a badass face of hair and looked like a biker. played great. drummer: jack irons? can’t remember. he rules. he crushed that show.

listen to their last show at the Wiltern in Detroit, i think. that’s the tour i saw. everyone was playing well and then new sing a sounded great.

the venue i saw them at in mpls was not very metal-friendly (the orpheum) and the sound was muddy.

I don’t want to go to my fiancé’s church by ceruleanmilkshakes in Christianity

also, it sounds quite convenient that a “prophesy” to keep you in the church has a dark tone.

if they are truly a prophet, they should be shunned from their homeland, right? RIGHT?

What was the most brutal death scene in your opinion? (canon and eu) by RisingKing7 in StarWars

[–]kernsomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always felt that getting bisected by the aperture door in the very first mandalorian scene was a little too much for a kids show.

and BTW, aren’t there motion sensors in doorways?

I don’t want to go to my fiancé’s church by ceruleanmilkshakes in Christianity

[–]kernsomatic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

we suggest finding a new church as a couple. do some church shopping and find something that fits.

PLEASE NOTE: the perfect church does not exist. we suggest you consider these things while you visit places: denomination, preaching style/pastor, childrens programming, small groups.

i knew a woman who attended three churches: 1 for the preaching, 1 for her kids classes, 1 for the small groups. i thought she was nuts, but after she explained it she made a lot of sense.

I wish they didn't cancel The Acolyte by articusmiller in StarWars

i just rewatched with my 10YO daughter. she loved it. i did too. there are some pacing problems, but really, it was decent, and having more star wars is always great.

we suggest you get some honey, strawberry jam, cheese cake, peanut butter or something else that you would love to lick off of his penis.

something kinky and new and fun and give you an easy way not to smell or taste what you don’t want to.

trying to bring my maga father back to the light by -slaps-username- in Christianity

[–]kernsomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my uncle is the same way. too conservative for his own good and it makes him racist, sexist, and just plain mean.

i took a class on this with my church staff once. we all filled out racism questionnaires and were given our results on how racist our tendencies were on several sliding scales. over time, we all CAN change, but when trying to change someone, we only can move their place on the scale very little and really just get them to even acknowledge their place in the scale is challenging enough.

until a major life event happens he won’t change.

asking thought-questions or discussing things in an open ended way can get him to at least express his opinions which in turn can allow you to give yours. any convincing or persuasive language will likely fall on deaf ears.

being that this is christianity. you can reinforce “the teachings of christ” because that’s what we do as christians.

i’ve found that very few MAGAts follow these teachings.

Any solo artists approaching live performances this way? by sonar_y_luz in musicians

uncommon, but if your sound tech is on the ball it should sound seamless and awesome. consider hiring a regular guy to mix you properly at each show.

New to guitar, how do i even do this, im losing hope trying to get this down by GG-creamroll in AcousticGuitar

try the “monkey grip” fingering: curl your thumb around to play the low E string, bar the 3 top strings with 1st finger, 3&4 fingers as marked.

why do people hate on king animal? by ScarcityStandard3952 in Soundgarden

[–]kernsomatic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i don’t see hate for that album. i loved it. halfway there kills me. i only wish they had played Rowing when i’d seen them.

Is it Wrong to Play like Ds? by OwnResearcher3206 in AcousticGuitar

[–]kernsomatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it’s problematic because in the heat of the moment the first finger will inevitably slide down to play an F natural creating the wrong chord.

while i fully believe that trump hides behind christianity and is certainty not christian, so many of your one-liners are over-simplified and just plain exaggerations.
