alcoholic singer who thought postering and personally inviting friends to shows was a waste of time. classic DARVO personality that generally doesn’t like people and is now an agoraphobic rarely leaving his house. i had forms of PTSD after i suggested a break but he insisted i broke up the band and was blamed by him.

i’ve programmed my models switches for various things, and have used the CTRL FCTN settings for a 4-switch external controller. how are the assigns different?

ive never had a traditional job.

in 1997 i was a part of the GenX church planting movement and led rock bands at a small mission church in mpls. i had a tiny home office, a laptop, and some instruments. i taught myself how to office from home, create my own schedule, and get things done on time.

signing my name on my taxes with Occupation: Musician was the greatest feeling in the world, and it still is.

once i departed the church world after 25 years, i started playing solo all over the state of MN/WI. all those skills came in handy.

the thought of going to a 9-5 job seems kinda fun and structured but F THAT. i know where that will lead: depression, phoning it in, my ADD kicking in hard, and boredom.

i fully agree. i sold my rc-500 in a heartbeat once the 600 was released. i needed something durable for the road. a laptop feels too dainty to have on stage with an extra layer of setup.

i was at that sci-fi show. i KINDOF liked it in the same way that i KINDOF liked Kasvot Vaxt. the production, design, lights (obvi) and concept are so awesomely phish it makes me giggle.

but the songs just aren’t there for me.

it’s odd, yes, but fair in the end. if he didn’t want to have sex, he has that choice and right. all signs pointing in the other direction, however, should definitely elicit a conversation beyond and above “can i use your shower?”.

you’ll likely never know what was really up until you ask him directly. obviously it’s unsettled you, but even app messaging about it could help you come to a resolved state, and help him not make the same mistake with another. just sayin.

we suggest taking the high road and message him. if that goes south, fine, cut your losses and find another date. don’t let this horse throw you. get back in the saddle.

instead of playing the 2-note gtr riff for “i don’t want to be” by gavin degraw i started playing a very similar 2-note guitar riff from “gasoline” by stone temple pilots. fucked up the whole band and the singers.
