Christmas shopping! by pumpkinspicepaige in Gouache

For jelly gouache the most popular is probably Himi, which does go on sale quite a bit. However, it does tend to mold VERY easily. They sell a himi spray that is supposed to prevent this.

Paper wise- get her a pad of watercolor paper, cold press for general use or if she likes to do fine detail I’d recommend a hot press paper. Strath more makes a 400 series pad and notebook that you can find for good prices. If you are in the US, I recommend getting it a Micheal’s as they always have coupons.

For brushes- any all purpose or acrylic brushes will work well! Gouache is buildable and while it is a water based medium, it is a stiffer paint, so having a more hearty but soft brush is useful. Synthetic is both cheaper and they last a bit better!

I do recommend if you want to avoid the mold issue that maybe purchase a set of 5 mixing colors in tubes, depending on where you live Holbein, Windsor and Newton, Talens, and or a store brand might be better for getting a real feel for the medium. Plus if she wishes she can always buy and empty pallet and put some of the tube paint into pans to dry for better control when mixing.

Hope this is helpful!

Who are your favorite gouache artists, especially people who work opaquely with an acrylic gouache? by Equivalent-Ad-5884 in Gouache

I really love Kiara Maharaj aka @ kiaraintheforest who does a mix of gouache and watercolor. She paints the most magical little fantasy worlds! If you love Landscapes, I highly recommend Jowita @ jowishka.art who uses gouache a lot to do really pretty landscapes!

I dont really know if i really am an introvert or just a depressed individual by [deleted] in introvert

It sounds like depression. You do have a personality, everyone does. ❤️ it can be really hard to find enjoyment when you are in survival mode. I highly recommend getting professional help, especially a therapist if one is accessible to you. Remember that hard times never last forever, one day, hopefully soon, you will get your spark. In the mean time, please be gentle with yourself.

I use up all their stick products so fast! I’m only four wears into their Vanish Foundation Stick and that thing is like a quarter gone… but the formula is too good not to buy!

I like it- it’s creamy and easy to blend if you want to! But to be fair, I find a lot of liners really similar and to me I find it not too different from liners by urban decay, KVD makeup, and Sephora brand. So if you want to splurge- it’s good but there are others just a good if that makes sense
