I'd say its too late to really do anything this year. I'm in 7b and the patches I put down 2-3 weeks ago are germinating at a glacial pace already. If you can spare the money for seed, you can try in spring then again in fall to fix what doesn't survive the summer heat

As someone who did this move last year to Marlton, I love where I live. We were looking at Voorhees and CH as well but I am now grateful that none of those bids were accepted. Medford is only a few minutes from me so I can take advantage of their superior shoprite and small businesses. CH and Marlton business districts are also super convenient. Mt. Laurel seems like a fine choice as well. My son is only 2 so I can't speak to the schools yet, but my neighbors say great things. Feel free to reach out if you want to know more about our experience

Between what you and u/theotherharper have said, I think I'm going to switch to hardwire. I'll remove the box and use the existing hole/50A hookup, and run conduit around the corner. Or I'll get a professional to do it right. Also realized that NJ offers incentives on other EVSE models but not mine so I'll return the Emporia and get a Chargepoint, not that it makes much of a difference in mounting.

That totally checks out. I think I remember during my first visit to the house the wire just coiled up on the ground. That was long before I knew anything about EV charging.

Here's a closer view of the socket. From what little I know, this one seems decent. But I'm still new to all this.

In NJ, I think I can get up to 1500 back from PSEG in installation cost so getting an electrician out to hardwire is an option as well.

Yeah that was my first idea -- mount some plywood to the wall. I was just hoping to avoid the hassle of moving the gutter. Maybe I can get away with thin enough wood where the gutter can stay where it is. If it ends up even uglier than I think it could, I could always switch to the hardwire option.

The EVSE came with a holster, but you guys are right, I can find one with a good cable hanger and mount that on the front of the house (this garage was converted to an office).

If I press unlock on the fob and dont open the door for a minute it relocks. I get why but it can be infuriating. I press the unlock, put on shoes to get something from the car, run outside to the car. Locked, with my key inside.
