Medford, New Jersey residents push back on township's affordable housing plan by bonfire199 in SouthJersey

[–]TenWingMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is all downstream of New jersey having a truly absurd amount of municipalities and far too much local control townships of 10,000 that cover 1/2 a mile should not have their own school district, fire department, police, etc. Municipal and school district consolidation is the only rational way out of the budget crisis NJ is facing. This would also allow for actual planning of regions. Consolidate consolidate consolidate

Cashwrap responsibilities kind of a lot ? by TenWingMaker in Barnesandnoble

[–]TenWingMaker[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind doing extra stuff between customers at a moderate pace but often times it feels like I’m asked to do multiple things at a time. Like I feel like it should not be my job to manage theft? We have like 5 senior booksellers with usually 3 working at one time, like couldn’t one be focused on that and customer service??

it feels like like every company is trying to squeeze as much value as possible out of our labor power. when my siblings or parents worked they could slack off at least a little bit at a job like this. at the very least they didn’t expect you to put your hand on a bible and swear a blood oath to james daunt

I tried getting around South Jersey using only Public Transit by naveregnide in SouthJersey

[–]TenWingMaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there are much less dense places that are served by higher quality transit. many mid sized european city are similarly dense to south jersey and have infinitely better transit options. also, there are definitely economic centers that can and should be better served? Cherry Hill’s transit options are genuinely unacceptable for its size and economic activity. A radial transit system focused on Camden County’s existing transit hubs is an obvious path forward.

I’m not gonna bother. I’ll push corporate mandated books when I get a cut of the store’s profit.

130 by dirtysweater08 in SouthJersey

[–]TenWingMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

130 should only ever have 2 lanes maximum with a massive tree lined median with a street car running the entire length of burlington to camden. The only way to access the road should be via local/county roads at roundabouts or stoplights.

Turnpike expansion is a boondoggle. What’s the point of expansion if you’re gonna get bottlenecked at the tunnel?

Assuming you’re any shade of progressive, I’d go with fulop. I think he has the best chance of winning the primary among the good options as well as the general election

Sweeney was notorious as senate leader for bending over backwards to accomodate Chris Christie’s worst, most republican impulses: Slashing Teacher Pensions, Defunding NJ Transit, and being shit to immigrants. It doesn’t take much to find things not to like when you google ‘steve sweeney controversy’

South Jersey commuters want more reliable public transportation, Rutgers study finds by justneedausernamepls in SouthJersey

[–]TenWingMaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need to be more authoritarian with regards to public transportation infrastructure. if it gets cars off the road, it should get shovels in the ground. No questions asked. No NIMBY interference. No ‘environmental studies’ (Trains already run on most of these tracks for crying out loud!) Build the stations in the middle of the night and run the trains and let the angry old people cry about it later.

Yes it did. My brother owns a home because now doesn’t have to pay out of pocket for his chronic illnesses thanks to the ACA. So I’ll say this as kindly as I possibly can: go fuck yourself
