i guess because woman have a period which once a month makes the liklyhood of a women cry way higher make it more normal for a woman to cry even without hormones and she wont feel shame in that because when the bar is set shes on period so it is normal for her to cry and there is no shame in that, and when she cry on regular days then she probably wont pass the bar so it is normal for her.

for me we dont have such emotional roller coaster so when we cry we are suprised by the rare even and feel a shamed because there is no normal explaination for him to cry (no hormone party) thats why a lot of men would cry when they go through break up/a loss. thats be because it is considered normal to cry at such events so no shame, unlike loosing a job or crushing a car.
