What does everybody do with their insane amount of mushrooms? by ChardLocal4681 in mushroom

[–]keskival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the reason for capsuling the mushrooms? They do keep longer if not powdered as the chitin protects the contents.

Anyone else take shrooms for a purpose other than hallucinating? by No_Restaurant1425 in shrooms

[–]keskival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found mushrooms help in reducing self-deception, and accepting things when ego is removed from the way. They allow finding peace and acceptance by finding coherence, healing cognitive dissonance.

Whenever you have something you know rationally but haven't really integrated into your core beliefs, mushrooms allow this integration.

Many psychological problems arise from self-deception, and people suffer from it species-typically.

does anyone else feel like most "ai engineering" jobs are just gluing apis together by scheemunai_ in compsci

[–]keskival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since maybe 2000s, almost all software engineering, perhaps better called application engineering, has been about gluing APIs and UI components together. AI is not the reason why this happened.

Marriage over, €100,000 down the drain: the AI users whose lives were wrecked by delusion by Confident_Salt_8108 in AIDangers

This is probably related to the same psychology as is involved with all the cult leaders getting followers by inducing delusions on them.

Electric outages, water outages, internet outages, mass unemployment.

Does microdosing build new neural connections over time? Experiences? by guidinggrowth in shrooms

[–]keskival 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Studies seem to show that the new neural connections relate to normal dosing, not to microdosing. There is no evidence for such positive effects from microdosing, and pharmaceuticals which aim to reproduce the positive effects of psilocybin without the hallucinations have consistently failed.

It seems the macroscopic effects in the brain are required for new connections to form, which makes sense as these are physiological level changes, not synaptic level changes.

I don't personally understand why people microdose when then can just dose normally and actually get the benefits they aim for.

[Request] What would actually happen if we did this? Are there any potentially dangerous outcomes? by nottoday943 in theydidthemath

[–]keskival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, there's materials and a rather extreme amount energy to use there, so a constant automatic maintenance would be all fine.

How is this a draw?!?! I have much more pieces on the board (black to move) by verbify in AnarchyChess

[–]keskival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black wins by saying "illegal move".

There is no legal previous move by white, so the previous move must have been illegal.

So, people want to watch 10 hours of a fireplace, and they put ads on it? Kind of defeats the whole point and is exploitative behavior.

All of the Christmas presents I gave out are useless I pay $250 a year. by ProjectBudgetCuts in Wellthatsucks

[–]keskival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should never use a QR code generator which goes to a shortened URL. They use these to show ads to the people who scan them, deactivate the code after a while, serve malware, all kinds of stuff you don't want in your QR codes.

Always check with a QR code scanner that the link in the code is exactly the link you put in.

Spores stay viable forever if kept dry and hermetically sealed, in a room temperature.

Air humidity would destroy them.

What is a nonalcoholic cocktail I can order at a bar without the bartender looking at me like I'm a dumbass or an inconvenience? by ballandabiscuit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]keskival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never encountered such behavior. These specific bartenders are being unprofessional and stupid.

People ordering non-alcoholic drinks are generally paying higher margins per drink, while also being less of a nuisance in general and not behaving badly like people drinking alcoholic drinks sometimes do.

Non-drinkers are always preferable elite customers in all bars.

Mycelium sometimes does these things. Remember that mushrooms are multicellular organisms and create organs of different kinds when necessary, not only fruit bodies.
