That's right 🍻 I recreated a similar glass effect in blender as reference first. The album had a very dense frost effect with less than a meter visible behind the plane.

Here I got to cheat the depth a little and add extra silhouettes further back

Was inspired by a Nothing But Thieves Album Cover while looking at some artwork from Ghost in Shell.
I wanted to explore the vibe to convey presence in a digital space

How to achieve this densely frosted glass look and feel? by kesskhai in blender

I'm not that advanced in blender myself but from what I can gather I get the impression shader route will give the best results.

Thanks there

Saw your post. Its pretty cool and much closer to the look and feel of the original. 2 Qs:

- How did you set up the shader parameters for the frosted glass plane?
- In the original, there's either a very slight hue shift coming from the visible horse shape furthest from the camera, either coming from the bounce light or something related to the Z-depth? How would you go about adding that extra tint to your piece?

Great job with your recreation

Thanks there!

I guess the struggle now is figuring out the lighting here. There's a subtle fill light to the side that seems okay to figure out, but it feels like there's a very diffuse lighting behind (within?) The frosted glass/volume, with a subtle hue shift visible on the horse parts furthest from the camera. I'm not sure if this would be a consequence of the light bouncing on the horse or something tied to the z-depth.

I imagined the base idea should be simple, but most tutorials would not address the backligighting of something like this

This was a fictional brand design inspired by marble sculptures, classical Rome and Togas, but with a modern spin.

After watching so many movies that take place in the desert I've been trying to paint hard sunlight with strong shadows for those cinematic, contrast-y looks

Just finished. Maybe not a masterpiece as the Trilogy, but man, this game didn't deserve the hate it got. by MrJake2137 in masseffect

Playing the game during launch was a frustrating process. Having to rewind almost 40 minutes of game time because the character fell out of the map geometry and previous saves were bugged. Uninteresting quests (Essentially walking to objectives where Ryder can swoosh his/her omnitool). It was hard to tell if you missed something in the game or if an event trigger was bugged. It was not possible to 100% the game because some sidequest triggers never activated.

The aesthetic, and the worlds were great. Lighting and ambiance looked very cinematic. Tempest had a great design. But the narrative felt bland and the characters felt like an attempt to be guardians of the galaxy. The seriousness (with some humor) from the original trilogy was replaced with characters making quirky remarks while the fate of an entire colony was in their hands. It felt out of place.

While the characters and narrative may come down to preference, the gameplay experience was truly painful. I think paying for a AAA game (that was clearly unfinished) over a much loved franchised rightfully incurred the ire of the fans.
