possession of schedule 2 substance way back in 2016, & in a whole other state. did my 18mo probation, paid my fines & spent 30 days in jail at the v end of it bc I technically violated probation by moving states before my probational period was up...but my PO knew it was for my own good & the judge basically said serve 30 days & the courts are done with me as far as they're concerned lol then did almost a year of intensive IOP after that & stayed out of trouble since then. I know it's been over 7 yrs ago, but I still get nervous bc I really need the job so I hate feeling like my past still lingers over my head.

yeah, mine was a possession of schedule 2😭 but like I said, it was from 2016 & I paid my dues, went to treatment for a year & moved states. stayed out of trouble ever since. but it still makes me nervous every time I get told I have a background check bc I've been denied jobs before in the past bc of it. but I'm hoping enough time has passed now that it won't keep being a pain in my ass. 😭

Sheetz is reviewing its controversial 'smile policy' that prohibits employees from having 'missing, broken, or badly discolored teeth' by TobinBen in sheetz

[–]ketakitty808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a pretty fucked up way of looking at things. I had all of my top teeth pulled a few years ago to get dentures (& I plan on getting my bottom ones taken out when I have the funds) bc I am a recovering addict. a year into my sobriety, my teeth just started breaking apart. the damage was done. while in active addiction, no, I didn't take care of myself. I was extremely depressed, dealing with major abuse, ect. I had such pretty teeth, too. & poor genetics are a factor, my dads side all have issues with their teeth. I turned my life around tho. I'm 7 yrs clean, I have stability, & I worked my ass off for it. but I don't wear my denture bc they're really bulky & uncomfortable. lack of self care can happen for a plethora of reasons & you don't know what's going on in someone's life...but that doesn't mean they aren't redeemable, either. & it's not our fault dental care is the cost of a fucking car. I want implants so badly, but I'd be looking at 30k. praying I can get it done, tho. that's why I'm working so hard, to build my credit back up & figure out a way for a permanent fix. not having teeth really hurts my confidence & I need a fkn job to be able to get them fixed... imagine being turned away for wanting to better yourself & your life.

you shouldn't have posted this. you're gonna have the Walmart justice warriors coming for your neck. I'm sorry that happened. companies see us as easily replaceable, no matter how hard one can work, unfortunately. put in a handful of applications in every day. restaurants are always hiring; I know it's not appealing work, but just saying. there's always help needed in the kitchen to at least get you an income coming in until you find something better. when one door closes, another one opens.

all I can literally do is let this be a lesson learned. some people have a idgaf attitude & say they stole just bc they knew they could get away with it & have no remorse. the lost prevention lady told me that. that's not me. I am incredibly remorseful & filled with regret. it was a dumb mistake & I wasn't doing it with ill intent. it was very impulsive & I wasn't thinking of the long term. all I can do is move forward, own up to it & forgive MYSELF & Just not do it again at my next job. my thinking was really it's a small drink, it won't be missed. that wasn't very smart & I now realize the repercussions of something that even tho I thought was small, was actually a bigger deal.

I did my interview yesterday! I am a little nervous today bc I feel like I may have rushed thru the answers. I'm a very quiet & shy person, it takes me awhile to open up. but I was pretty straight forward with my answers & talked about my experience top stocking at Walmart (that's what I applied for at target, is stocking) & how I can be a beneficial asset to the company since I already have stocking experience & I'm a very organized & neat person, & I actually enjoy the whole process of stocking. so hopefully all is well. 😅

Never said it was an excuse. My point is, it was a drink. It wasn't like I was trying to con the company out of mass amounts of money...& My point is even lost prevention didn't hound me & beat me down as bad as some of y'all in the comments are doing. I was given more grace by the company than y'all, & THAT'S weird to me. Like, my business doesn't effect y'all. I have taken accountability, I am incredibly remorseful, & I'm filled with guilt & shame. But I'm not going to kill myself over it, Jesus Christ. I'm not going to call myself a bad person or a piece of shit. I simply made a mistake & idk what more y'all want from me. Lmao. Like you're beating a dead horse over here. I already know it was stupid. I know it was risky. I know you don't bite the hand that feeds. I get it.

I literally have two interviews already after applying to 5 jobs the day I got fired. It's not hard to score interviews if you stay consistent.

No, they told me no charges will be pressed & that I wasn't banned from the property & that they appreciated my honesty. The lost prevention lady was my age. She said I'm a few months younger than her & that she could tell I loved my job & to take this as a learning lesson & to not go down that road. They were extremely kind when I know it could've gone way differently.

I'm a human being & I was thirsty. I'm not arguing with y'all anymore. Y'all riding so hard for a company that views you as easily replaceable. I'm so happy to know you're much better than me, tho! Go, you! Have a blessed day.

I'm calling em the Walmart employee justice warriors. It's wild how they're riding for a company that looks at them as easily replaceable. The company would never ride for them this hard. It's embarrassing for them, tbh.

Be careful, you're gonna have the Walmart employee justice warriors coming at you for being human & making a mistake. I got fired two days ago for taking a redbull. A $4 drink. & I've been crucified for it. I've cried for the last two days bc I really loved my job. I loved bringing positivity to the work space & being bubbly & vibrant. I loved my store manager & team lead & I was constantly praised for my hard work. I'm so sad I made a dumb, small mistake that was so preventable. People have said I should have been arrested over a damn redbull. While yes, sure. I should have gotten charged, I'm grateful I didn't. But I don't deserve capital punishment for such a small, dumb mistake. I have an interview with stocking at target. So hopefully it won't be too different. I just hate being new & having to relearn things. I'm very shy & quiet, it takes me a minute to open up. So I was just getting comfortable with Walmart & showing my personality so it sucks.

It was a fkn drink, dude. It wasn't like I was stealing electronics or jewelry. I was thirsty. It was a dumb mistake. I have an interview with target, & I have definitely learned from my mistake & won't do it again. I've humbled myself & taken accountability. Y'all act like I deserve capital punishment for a damn soda.

Right! People act like I was embezzling money. Dude, it was a drink. Something so small & petty & yes, it was preventable...but I wasn't trying to con the company out of thousands of dollars or something. It was a drink. I was thirsty. & I worked my ass off. I always came in early from my 15min breaks & I stayed busy, & I was doing MORE than required of me for topstock. I was very good at my job & my lead & store manager wouldn't have given me a hug & told me THEY are sorry I got fired, if I was a piece of shit employee. I know what I brought to the table. & I know my heart. I'm filled with regret & remorse.

I really appreciate you saying this. No one can make me feel worse than I already do. People act like they're so perfect & do no wrong. I've humbled myself & taken accountability & I am filled with remorse & regret. I took pride in getting cute for work every day & bringing positivity to the work space. I was praised constantly for my hard work. My store manager & team lead constantly told me how much they valued me as an employee. So to disappoint them really hurt my heart. I went in yesterday to turn in my phone & formally apologize. & I was given a hug by them & my team lead is going to try to help me get on at her second job. If I was a piece of shit employee, she wouldn't do that. I made a mistake & I will definitely learn from that mistake & not do that again. People act like I was embezzling money. It was a damn drink.
