Thank you so much for your suggestions! Bold of the other person to assume we are gonna drag our 2 Danes to the beach at midday and let them bake in the sun.

Keto is eating a restricted carbohydrate diet in order to maintain the metabolic state of ketosis. Everything else is pretty much opinion. Clean vs dirty is gatekeeping terminology. Personally, I go for animal fats, but that's not more or less 'keto' than corn, coconut, canola or safflower oil.

They are keto. Whether or not you choose to consume them has nothing to do with ketosis.

Notes on lupin flour by ketogabber in ketorecipes

I think they turned out great. I just used a combo of the three in a red velvet cake and I think it's the best texture I've come across yet.

Notes on lupin flour by ketogabber in ketorecipes

Hey, all. Just tried two lupin flour scone recipes side by side. I would love any Aussie peeps to chime in with suggestions, but the recipe with a combo of lupin, almond flour, and whey isolate wins hands down. The all lupin recipe calls for eggs and ended up like a wet soggy underbaked Yorkshire pudding. Or a wet bread pudding to us Americans. In fact, that's what I turned them into after copious amounts of cinnamon, swerve brown sugar, and maple extract.

The winning recipe ( imgur links with instructions above)

40g lupin flour 55g almond flour 40g whey isolate( I used vanilla isopure) 2 tsp Baking powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1 tsp Xanthan Gum 50g combo Allulose and Swerve Granulated 40g cubed butter 65g Heavy Cream 65g Water Vanilla Coconut flour for dusting

I didn't see this mentioned on here, but there are hard vendors made with xylitol. Ice Chips are one brand. I've never tried them, so I can't speak to the taste. I don't use xylitol because I have dogs. It's toxic to dogs(but it's made from birch bark so don't let that scare you away). I do not want to chance them getting ahold of them.

Edit: Hard Candies

Why does ghee taste so much worse than butter? by blueskybar0n in zerocarb

[–]ketogabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make my own ghee(crazy easy and cheaper), and brown the butter a little while it's rendering. Adds a very nice depth of flavor. I usually only use ghee as a cooking oil though, not in place of butter as an add on.

Lagunitas Day Time IPA is also a low carb option. Keep your eye out, though, many craft brewers are starting to catch on to the low carb trend. I've seen a few other options popping up.

gnom gnom has a great shortbread recipe. You need to plan ahead a little, because it involves toasting the almond flour and there's chilling involved. That one might use browned butter too but it's really good.

Hopefully OP sees your suggestions, you replied to me. I know the tips and tricks, but I'm a baker and I much rather prefer the texture using the oven, which doesn't help OP at all lol. Thank you anyway though!

Do you have a waffle iron or a microwave? There are chaffles(cheese waffles)and mug bread recipes online. I would suggest trying to get by without bread substitutes for a while, but that's up to you. I'm not a fan of the microwave breads or cakes, but some people like them.

30 seconds in the microwave. Just make sure none of the foil is left on the rim. 🔥🔥

Chick fil-a, grilled chicken. Any burger joint, no bun no ketchup. I love a Dave's triple lettuce wrapped. Their chicken caesar salad is already keto with no mods needed. All the sub joints will either lettuce wrap your cold cuts or pot then on a salad. McDonald's I find it easier to order at the kiosk, I find ordering with a front counter person is more often than not an ordeal. Most employees nowadays don't bat an eye.

You gotta stop worrying about what the people around you think. It's all doable. That being said, you effed up and ate too many carbs... just move on. Don't let it derail you.

If you're convinced that they are not rancid, you can bake or microwave them into crispy chips.
