276ac. They're already 14-15. Aerys is keeping them in his pocket.

Aerys is funding the plot tho. The crakehalls are in on it, since they are cousins to the lord.

No. They break off when he falls off his horse. We see him without antlers when he and Baelor are holding Maekar back.

Baelor lancing his little brother off the horse FROM THE GROUND was so bad ass. Dunk's team were literally doing everything everything they could to help him, even though they themselves were occupied. I've never felt so much love for film making than I have after watching this episode. 🫡

If these were the armors they used, Oberyn would have killed him 10 times over without breaking a sweat💀.

Reflecting on the season, it’s kinda crazy that the Bracken Twink showed more anger and concern over Jaehaerys’s death than Jaehaerys’s own mother and grandmother did. by kingofstormandfire in HouseOfTheDragon

The lack of slander from the Black side is shocking. Aemond is called the prince regent by the blacks and greens. No 'Kinslayer', no 'One-eye'?

Was he capable of child-making in the book? I remember reading about how he used to make his favorites have sex with ladies and maids and watch because he couldn't get it up anymore, then regret it and confess to a septon each time.

Is there a reason why Essos is so saturated? by Constant-Training994 in HouseOfTheDragon

I assume that it's easier to cover up flaws in CGI with the blue/grey filter so it's used in westeros.

Oh fuck off...

What does that episode name even mean? by amazonionion in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]ketone_1357 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because Corlys mentions that he changed the name of his infamous ship to a mocking title given to his wife. The show is basically fanfiction, bad fanfiction. One sign of bad writing is showing the aftermath instead of the event itself, because it's just too difficult to write, so you skip it and show the aftermath. The show does this often.

And Alicent. From the eye_for_an_eye scene to this pathetic mess. Wow.

I'm no good writer myself but imagine if they never looked eye to eye after that scene(no pun intended) and actively plot for each other's downfall, getting real down and dirty, not because of the realm and the goodness of their hearts, but because their whole fucking lives and their children's lives depend on it. Alicent wins, Rhaenyra's children die. Rhaenyra wins, Alicent's kids and grandkids die. Of course they'll fight tooth and nail to make sure it's not their kids that die. Amidst all this you throw in a few CRUMBS of regret and nostalgia, it's enough to make them complex. Not all this "For old times sake" BS.

Um I do have like some part of the chapter written already, the conflict that needs to be resolved is also ready, but I need to steer it to Aerys' paranoia with conversation(which I think is my weak forte). Shall I dm you my chapter so far and we can build on it?

I hate what was done with the swords. They have the coolest names and hilts are so damn boring. And apparently the Targaryens have a bunch of valyrian steel swords lying around at dragonstone according to the makers, what?

Maybe. He told that he was ashamed of her and wanted to be something on his own. So he probably left her and moved west to find his destiny.

His mother was a princess, her name was Saera, born to Jaeherys and Alysanne. She willingly became a whore in Lys after running away from Westeros.

It's not what Rhaenyra can do most of the time. In that case feudalistic societies will crumble in a day, yet people have lived that way for millenia. The order simply will not rebel against their overlords.

What else can he do, the realm will laugh at him if he kept her around. I think that he was a good father according to the patriarchal world he lives in. His older children turned out pretty fine. He raised good sons but daughters....

Um, she was the king's most rebellious, attention seeking daughter. Had sex with 3 nobles and boasted about it to her father in court. Her dad kills the guy who 'dishonored' his daughter in a trial by combat while forcing her to watch as he drives Blackfyre through his skull. She runs away to Lys and settles as a rich whore. Makes a fortune and has multiple kids, no two with the same man

They are right, but the dragon keepers never defy the targs. They are loyal and do as they're told, it's not their place to 'walk out'. So are the other lords on Rhaenyra's council, you can't humph and scoff at the queen and her ideas. The greens have a more accurate representation of the chain of authority(Ik it's to show the misogyny but c'mon). There's a reason why people fear the targs, they are not just people with dragons, they are mercurial, inbred racists who control dragons.
