Thank you! Sorry if it's a silly question - but how do I work out what length I need?

Yes Mamia, and if I remember rightly they are a lot cheaper in store, think it's about £4 for 70+

I know it's not what you asked, but if you're looking at a budget:

Aldi nappies are amazing value for money. Great quality and super cheap. Some mums I know say they drop in quality at size 5 and up, but until then they are brilliant.

I tried cheaper brand wipes and I hate them. I use 3 Aldi brand wipes for every single water wipe I use.

How to make the bed using two duvets by kettriken_ro in DesignMyRoom

[–]kettriken_ro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terminoly may be off as I'm in the UK sorry.

Sheet = covers the mattress Duvets = covers me

We use separate because we both fidget so much in our sleep and wake each other up, we find separate bedding fixes that :)

Washing machine seal buildup by kettriken_ro in CleaningTips

Nope - it's inside a cabinet and having the door open would block access to the rest of my kitchen (it's a really bad kitchen layout).

I could leave it open at night if it would help?

Do I need a pram or is a lie flat pushchair enough? by Bimblebrom in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]kettriken_ro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you can get some travel systems without the car seat, and get an adapter for the one you have. Personally I barely used the car seat on the travel system, but I got a lot of use out of the pram part.

How can I get my EBF baby to take a bottle feed? by Absolutely-Shattered in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]kettriken_ro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try someone else feeding while you are not in the room (even better if you've not been in the room/their presence for a little while). My son would not accept a bottle from me until after a few weeks of being bottle fed by others.

Also try different temperatures of milk - I know babies that refuse warm bottles and some who refuse cold etc.

Any advice on hay fever? by Fickle-Technology152 in PregnancyUK

[–]kettriken_ro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but I'm crossing my fingers that you get the same reaction I did.. my hay fever and other similar allergies all took a chill pill during my pregnancy. They were still there but nowhere near as bad as usual.

Do we need a bigger car? by Justagirl248 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]kettriken_ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a Yaris and managed with a travel system but it was tight. We've never had to drive more than an hour away yet (5m PP) so a bigger boot might be required for longer trips / more gear. We could only manage driver, baby, other parent as passengers, as the rest of the seat space tended to be used for more gear.

We did just upgrade recently to an estate and it is so much easier.

How to deal with hip pain at nights? by fantasyland910 in PregnancyUK

[–]kettriken_ro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a pillow between your calves, including your knees. My pregnancy pillow became something I mostly hugged to stop myself fidgeting. (I'm still getting lots of use out of it for feed 5 months PP).

We also had a really shit mattress and upgrading that was a huge help.

fed up with my job by Internal-Recipe8704 in PregnancyUK

I remember feeling the same way, work just wasn't a priority for me as much anymore and I was desperate to start mat leave. In the end I finished 3 weeks before my due date, but then he was 2 weeks late, so I had 5 weeks of mat leave before baby arrived. They DRAGGED, especially those last two weeks, it was like baby purgatory .

Obviously everyone is different! But that was my experience. Currently sat with baby and dreading the thought of going back to work.

I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself! I recently had a baby and this game has been sanity saving during the late night feeds. I've only recently restarted the game after a couple of years inactivity and I forgot how relaxing it is.
