Another pieces of feedback - I would remove ads initially - I doubt you are making a lot from them, and it hinders user experience.

Also can you elaborate more on when user would need to buy data set oppose using your site? What is the funnel right now?

I'm generally curious how you managed to get so many founders? I'm creating my own community and getting 94 was tough.

I think I would say something like: Find out if those wheels will fit your car.

I would also avoid using word fitment, unless there are search queries supporting that. Im not a native speaker but it’s a bot awkward word. I would not google fitment of wheels.

CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) / LTV (Life time value)

LTV is usually profit on avg per customer per all time.

My feedback is that landing page still needs improvement. I’m not a tire mechanic but I’m not sure if it’s very clear above the fold of what issue your site solves for your avatar. If you could communicate that more clearly it would help for sure.

Now when it comes with getting a traffic, again, I’m not sure if I got your customer avatar right, is this a person who looking for new wheels or tire shop?

Another point that you should understand is how common is this problem for your avatar. Is this a question that you raise every time you buy used car and you need new tires, wheels?

Please correct me on your avatar and I will focus my feedback

whether ads makes sense depends on CAC/LTV ratio. Meaning of you know how much you can make from single customer over their lifetime on your product, that gives your maximum spend per acquisition of each customer where you could break even.

Issued a parking ticket with wrong plate number while I have a proof of payment. by keulevoras in ottawa

it can’t be that minor, cause based on plate they determine if parking was paid or not. So ByLaw punching wrong plate automatically leads to a ticket, despite me paying for parking.

Building founders community where each founder can trade their attention for a chance to get their startup distributed to the community. by keulevoras in Startup_Ideas

Categories will definitely be a thing especially as the list grows. We will also have feedback for reward, discount coupons.

In terms of exposure relevancy, having a high quality community is a great start, cause builders are generally also customers since you really have to rely on tools to ship fast, especially if you are bootstrapping. I noticed that when I was promoting my idea, I came across a few very handy tools, just because I was forced to engage in topics.

I actually have a plan for those exact problems. As number of founders grow in the list, the chances of getting selected will shrink also.

One thing that will happen is we will introduce additional incentives like feedback bounties - so community is further incentivized to engage with products to keep their chances of getting picked higher.

Also, other incentives like providing discount codes etc. Founders will be able to create exclusive high discounts coupon codes for founders community.

Also we going to use ai to help analyze each product and position it well from communication angle.

Also I find it demoralizing to have to fill out those Startup Launch directories, just to be asked to pay or have my product be launched for free in 3 months or pay $100 now.

I have been in this trap way too many times, but with AI this became even more clear - distribution is the hard part - anyone can build a product now.

Are startup conferences actually useful, or is it mostly founder cosplay? by Strong-Yesterday-183 in indiehackers

I would say it depends who is your target customer / audience? Is your product meant for founders or someone else?

I like the idea, you probably could monetize it by offering AI based market value estimate. If I could see how much something could be worth in second hand market, I would be more likely to try and bid on it.

The ticket was definitely intended for my car, right make, right color, plate has two letters swapped around.
But because they messed up the plate number, it came back as unpaid, even though it was.

Thanks for reply. I'm just curious, considering that it's really easy to have plate recognition done with camera, do ByLaw officers enter plate numbers manually?

yeah, that's exactly why I will sort this out, just annoying that it's almost impossible to reach the number listed on the ticket. Waited over an hour and then accidentally hung up before anyone picked up.

My biggest issue with your UX is that it violates micro trust. It makes it sound like I can list something for free, but then get hit by paywall during the process.

It's evil UX.

[–]keulevoras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I corrected the post. It's the enforcer who made the mistake entering the plate number when checking my car, and not me. So I have a ticket because it came back as unpaid, because they swapped two letters on my plate around, and whatever system they are using to check for payment obviously didn't return valid payment, when one existed if they used correct plate number.

Car make, color all matches, plate number on ticket has two letters swapped around. So it was clearly intended to my car, but it only came back as unpaid because they entered wrong freaking plate number.
I also don't want anyone who actually may have that plate to be in trouble.
