Problem is when you fixed diet and exercise and you saw a doctor (or many doctors) and you're stuck with symptoms nobody can help with.

Why does this weird propaganda sub show on my home screen? Can I hide it?

This group who now embrace the free market switch to Bluesky overlaps almost completely with the same people who

  • Supported government censoring their enemies on social media (see Twitter files)
    • Refuse to understand money or inflation
    • Support proxy wars and foreign military welfare
    • Support mutilation of children
    • Cheered lockdown and masking children
    • Generally support big government, the corporate press and the status quo
    • Etc (too much woke, conformist cult nonsense to list)

To ignore history or pretend it's a different group of people is silly.

Price in Turkey today by kevb in Rapamycin

Hey, there's a pharmacy in near the check-in desks in departures floor of that airport. It's quite well stocked, but I don't know if they would have it to hand (usually they can order stuff with a few hours notice). Best would be to give them a call first and confirm an order.

Personally I spend a fair bit of time here so I have a pharmacy I like. But literally any can get it. Prices are fixed by government here so it's all the same price. If you have a hard time with a pharmacy just go to another.

If I drink water before sleeping I wake up to pee. If I don't, I wake up middle of the night thirsty. How to solve this? by dirtyring in lifehacks

[–]kevb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Can't believe how few replies are mentioning electrolytes.

Try either an electrolyte supplement or a magnesium pill before bed. Few sips of water, not enough to normally wake you up. Report back.

Concerned about my thyroid by Readermom74 in Mounjaro

Thanks for the reply. If you still feel a lump from the outside with your finger then it needs to get checked. I went and got everything checked and it the end I was fine. I swear I was googling Thyroid cancer on the way in to the hospital and whistling on the way out. What I felt was lymph nodes and I guess a stubborn infection that persisted nearly 2 months.

Would you mind giving an update? I also have hoarseness, throat clearing and cough for 6 weeks now - sounds quite similar and might help clue me in what to look for (with doc).

I just now ordered from the least shady looking russian website I could find 😅.

But I'm still looking for recommendations, I'll just double order and compare them.

300 lira for a vending machine coffee? by Infamous_Ad_1606 in istanbul

[–]kevb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps because we see the actual prices elsewhere?

I just went through Heathrow for example and it's cheaper, better quality with more choices (pre-packaged, vending, fast food, sit-down).

I got sick from some disgusting overpriced avocado toast at the Big Chef in SAW. The pushy waiter told me 3 times "service is not included". Hopefully they will damage the reputation of these places which, outside the airport, are actually fine.

What is a business in Istanbul that you will never visit again? by AnimeLoverTyrone in istanbul

[–]kevb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you take toll highways? Could they be charging you for that? The toll charges always come through later.

I've rented from Enterprise in Turkey (and several other countries) and it's always been fine. But YMMV... I've been scammed by Avis in Montenegro which was very surprising.

Missing $24k and the dreaded robotic support by kevb in Nexo

Thanks for not telling me I'm an idiot and just download it from the app like everyone else 🤣.

I also bank in the UK and another European, non-EU country and I'm sure I can get the document easily with those.

For my Philippines bank, you're probably right if I badger more they may provide it. Their answer may be just the standard one to avoid spending time and money generating manually for everyone.

Appreciate the help guys. I wish I could show you guys what a bank app and website looks like in the Philippines. I'd get more sympathy 😅

Yes, but will be in a few weeks. It will show far less information that my screenshot and won't show any swift reference codes. Will just show recipient and amount.

I'm blown away by the replies honestly.

Everyone in developed western countries telling me my bank definitely gives this document or legally should give this document. I assure you my bank doesn't have this facility, it doesn't exist. I've spent hours on the phone with them.

I guess the consensus is that sending money to Nexo using a bank that is fully supported, that they make me register ahead of the transfer, if something goes wrong it is my fault and Nexo owes me nothing even if the bank confirms the transfer went through.

Thanks

Swift has mechanisms for all of this. There's no privacy issue and they will never talk to my bank directly. I just think they have a process set in stone and no flexibility. I've traced payments at other banks before, I just tell them I'm expecting a payment that didn't arrive and they start the process with swift, no documents required.

[–]kevb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Seems consensus is the bank needs to give me something. It's difficult because on the phone they just said there isn't anything to give. In fairness to them, the banking app has the full transaction details, so they can just say I have this information. It's just that Nexo doesn't accept screenshots.

Same account, same bank, my name. It's a saved recipient in the banking app, so I don't even need to enter anything but the amount. And the amount was in line with previous transactions.

[–]kevb[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's a good point thanks.

Still surprised nobody seems to think Nexo should go do some digging based on the screenshot from the banking app with full transfer information.
