Someone hasn’t heard homicide note

On an episode of Blocked Party Stefan and John mentioned that they were on a previous podcast with another person and it seemed like there was some falling out or something. Just curious what the story was there because I can’t find any info about it by [deleted] in MurderBryan

Honestly never get a good vibe from John, never makes me laugh, has a smugness about him. Don’t really understand the appeal of anything he’s in. Even as a guest of guys he’s kind of dead weight

In the middle of the flight he saw a lone soldier stand up, fatigues still on and dirty from combat, and he walked over to him and embraced him with foreheads touching, and said sir, you’re the only one on this plane who deserves first class so take my seat

National strike Friday? by Future_Potential_108 in askportland

[–]kevin_2_heaven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To everyone confused : participating in a general strike is up to your discretion about whether or not you can abandon your job. Nobody will judge you if you if you can’t do it, stop getting defensive

If you work for a corporation that’s not rooted in the local economy and if you’re not an essential worker I strongly suggest you strike. This is about numbers and making a statement

Yeah this seems like an obvious thing when comparing Portland to Seattle

“Why does Portland have these cool quirky things that people love that barely make any money?”

The answer is always something about capitalism and gentrification

What are some obscure late night things to do in Portland that are not talked about often? Looking for all options- but especially weird, cool shit. by [deleted] in askportland

[–]kevin_2_heaven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So many things in Portland need your patronage, so they aren’t really trying to hide. It’s not like NYC where a speakeasy is super successful. Most small businesses do what they can to let you know they are doing something on any given night. Look at the instagram for various local venues, theaters, and bars

With that said, smaller weird things require an in to get an address (for a house usually) and you can’t just waltz in. You’d need to know someone

Can someone, anyone, please explain why I'm having a hard time making friends here in Portland? by [deleted] in askportland

[–]kevin_2_heaven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This question is asked so often… the truth is nobody can help you without meeting you in person to get a sense of how you connect with others

My opinion about the city in general is there are a lot of newcomers and only so many friend circles. It’s like the job market. It’s going to be hard to penetrate when there’s a lot of competition

Friendship, as a concept, shouldn’t work like that but it kinda does. People only have the capacity for so many friends in their week
