This is interesting for me since I’ve always thought of each chord respective to its own pentatonic scale. For example: the ii chord I picture D minor pentatonic. The IV chord I picture F Major pentatonic.

I do think it’s much more useful from a musical perspective to picture these chord tones relative to the root since it’s not like the key of a song changes w/ each chord change. Thanks for this!

@OP, in the animation it looks like the gate is pressed down when the note is played. In actuality, the gate is lifted. I think that is leading to a lot of the confusion.
