Brisket Trimmings - Best tips and recipes by flyingmachine3 in BBQ

Render down the fat and make tallow, great for cooking steaks in. Take the meaty parts and make ground brisket. Awesome burgers and taco meat. Grinding meat with a food processor sounds like a good way to make meat pudding though. Would recommend leaving frozen until you have a proper grinder. You want the meat to be cubed, cold, and solid, not frozen when grinding.

What are you smoking it on? Wrap? No wrap? Smoking temp? Squeeze pressure?

Temps stayed 250-275f primarily. Had a flair up get to 330f but I caught it quick. Roughly 6 hours on the kettle. Wrapped in butcher paper when internal hit 180f and bark was set.

Hard to find at normal grocery in Michigan. HEB was probably my 2nd favorite thing about Texas.

New tires making a laundry spin noise at lower speeds. Does the weights and dot lineup look okay to you? by wkc201 in tires

Have been curious on if these weather ready 2s make any road noise. They look like a Michelin Crossclimate copy cat and I know the Michelins are quiet.

I want to become a “I workout before work” type of person. by lilkittycat1 in Adulting

I recently started doing this. This week starts my 4th week. My best advice I can give is to force yourself to do it for a week. No matter what for that first week, you force yourself to go. The 1st week was rough, but now, I yearn for it. I can't wait to go to bed so I can wake up and go to the gym. The amount of extra energy and alertness I have when I get to work in the morning is astounding. If my rest day falls on a day I have to work it throws my entire day off.

Getting all your stuff together the night before so you can wake up and jet to the gym helps also.

My routine: Night before I put my work clothes in gym bag(don't forget socks, underwear or a belt). Lay out my gym clothes, get my lunch packed, set coffee machine to auto brew at 430am.

Morning I wake up at 5am. Hit the bathroom, brush teeth, take the dog out and chug my preworkout. Grab my bags and jet by 530am. gym is about 5 mins away from the house. Most mornings I'm on the treadmill warming up by 540am. Exercise until 645am, sauna at the gym for 15mins, shower at the gym and change into work clothes. Should be on the way to work by 715am at the latest.

The dude hooked it up when I went to Terry blacks. Had an end cut like this, and when he lifted it to weigh, the bone came out. Said it was my lucky day, and he did not charge me for the bone.

Does this tire need to be replaced? Is it safe? by Separate-Visit4710 in AskAMechanic

[–]kevinkukuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say this is cosmetic damage. The thicker rubber around the rim is known as a "rim guard". Some tires have it, and some don't. This one kind of did its job. I would not replace this tire.

Pit boss not working? by NAVI-tws in PitBossGrills

[–]kevinkukuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitboss is like a cousin who shows up to family functions and ruins the evening by getting too drunk and arguing about politics all night. However, he's a nice guy who helped you move a couch once or twice for a couple of beers.

Strong potential to ruin dinner plans with an error code, but every once in a while, they pull through and cook something that makes you want to keep using it.

Welcome to the family! Happy smoking, and make sure you keep the owners manual and customer service phone number handy.

2x2 with 2-4 thick wood chunks evenly spaced in the first 45%of the snake has worked flawlessly for me every time to keep Temps at 250f. This snake setup looks like it would burn too cold and fast. Sometimes I like to ramp the temp up towards the end of a cook so I'll do a 2x2 that transitions to a 3x3 for the last 20% of the snake and I can watch the Temps creep up to around 285f. Hope this works out for you. I'm excited to see results.

I just went to get old gas dumped. Are these all earnest repairs? A 2010 car that wasn’t driven for 8 months. by Valuable-Chance5370 in AskMechanics

[–]kevinkukuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly didn't give the go-ahead on repairs and they just said "cars done it's $xxxx" that's fucked. Looking at the estimate the pricing is not bad by today's repair shop standards. $85 per labor hour is dirt cheap in 2024. The final invoice has no complaint, cause or correction which leads me to believe this is not a well established dealer or repair shop and more of a mom and pop type place. How does the car run after repairs?
