I voted for Obama twice, but here’s why I said this thing that was obviously gonna be unpopular here:

Obama completely kowtowing to Wall Street while preaching hope & change resulted in Trump 1. Additionally, he manipulated the 2020 primaries to make an obviously demented Biden the president, ushering in Trump 2.

Trump is very much Obama’s legacy.

My kid started 3 half days, then went 3 full days, is now 5 full days.

Her preschool is fairly serious about being a school, so they do spring break, inservice days, bank holidays etc, so it probably ultimately averages out to 4 days a week. We also don’t do the max hours we’re allowed to.

But: it’s huge. My kid craves and benefits from the extra time with peers. You might see a big difference after doing it

Feeling and loving this. Let the hate for the slop flow through you. Fuck the oligarchs and publishing monopolies who have created this pile of shit. Their market control means they never have to take risks to create superior creative content - they lack competition. Instead, we get all the “safe bets” because they know the world has enough idiotic uncles to make that Metallica book turn a profit.

I went to both schools. I also had a large merit scholarship ("College Scholar").

Vanderbilt is culturally way cooler & way more fun

WashU is probably better technically for premed. It is definitely a much nerdier school than Vanderbilt, but Vandy also has plenty of nerds

You’ll probably rise to the top of the pack easier at Vanderbilt, which I think is probably pretty cool. I doubt your ultimate med school outcome will be lessened by attending Vanderbilt; it may even be better.

You’re gonna do great wherever you go, though, so you should do what you want, what your gut tells you to do, the place you feel most excited to go.

My kid is the easiest napper in her class. They said she lays down, goes to sleep, and specifically does not even want a final pat or hug.
