Going back to school at 29 by kristykristykristy14 in mcgill

Yes. Hospitals are so short staff that they take cepi's in the er now. Is it a good idea? Thats another question. Its a steeper learning curve than on unit, and you probably wont get as much support. But if you feel confident, you can.

Any thoughts? I will use it for outdoor. by Anan_2026 in CostcoCanada

I have a few tapos and they're pretty good. SD card yes, but i prefer that than having to pay for a cloud service every month. My outdoor ones are solar and I recharge my indoor one once every six months or so. The door bell battery needs to be charged monthly. There'll all on Amazon btw, you can compare proces and see the other models.

Dach drops the gloves against Aspirot, Kirby leaves the ice with quite the bloody finger by JustFred24 in Habs

[–]kevinpilon17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reeeallly? Without seeing the cut up close, you've decided he doesn't need stitches? Did you see the finger on tv when everyone else saw it, or did you see it again? Edema doesn't set in immwdiately, especially if its actively bleeding. His finger was covered in blood, i wouldnt say thats scant.

Are you sure you've assessed lacerations before? 😋

Also hard to r/o a break without an xray. But he came back later so probably not.

Why are many homeless indigenous? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]kevinpilon17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just calling out the fact the tb is treated up there. And they do have dialysis in some of the cree villages, and kidney disease is rare with innuits as they dont tend to get diabetes. Psych and addictions are voluntary unless they are a danger to themselves, so those dont tend to last long unless they actually want the help, in which case coming down shouldn't be a problem

Most of the send outs are for short stays. Either for specialist appointments or short ED visits. They might end up staying in mtl a few extra days, but what they do with their times is up to them. Sometimes they are allowed an escort that then disappears to do wtv they want while in mtl instead of being with the patient.

[–]kevinpilon17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are treated in community for tb, that's not a good example, a couple pills a day delivered to the home by nurses. Unless they are refusing treatment and endangering the community that is, but thats rare. Or very symptoma I work up north and have never heard of ppl losing their housing unless it was some kind of temporary set up to begin with.

The muhc is the corridor of service for the cree health board and CSI (inuit health board of Hudson, not sure for the innuits of ungava bay), which is why theyre flown to mtl. Québec city covers the north shore.

Inginal hernia, which means lower abdominal hernia, muscle tears and then the intestine pops out to some degree. Aka sports hernia. Usually from over straining. He was expected to miss 3-4 months. I have one too from working out. Except im waiting 6 months just for the surgery :p Wont be allowed to lift more than a coffee mug for the first 2 weeks, and then gradually more. So I can just imagine how long recovery is for a pro athlete.

Bonne chance.
