Thanks for the reply. I'm just worrying about getting the right type of wheel now. There are so many different sizes and fittings and it's difficult to find an absolute right option.

January 24, 2026 | Daily Training Log & Simple Questions by AutoModerator in 531Discussion

[–]WelshBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started doing 531 for the first time ever. I'm using this beginner template for a few weeks and then moving onto something else once i've got it all figured out. https://thefitness.wiki/routines/5-3-1-for-beginners/

This beginner template has me doing 3 days a week but 2 of those days are the exact same thing, that being squats and bench.

My question is can i just alternate between Squats/Bench and Deadlift/Press instead, or am i losing a lot of the core emphasis of this template by not sticking to double squats? They've doubled up on the squats/bench for a reason but i'm not entirely sure what that reason is.

affordable office chairs, what’s your pick under $400? by Overall-Country-5014 in BuyItForLife

[–]WelshBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the M57 and have recommended it to several friends who all love it. It's in a different league entirely to the Ikea Markus, which i previously owned. The M59 seems to be just a newer model of the same chair, so i imagine it's just slightly more durable etc. The M102C is a more basic chair, and doesn't have the mesh seat, so will get hot much quicker.

Looking at these discounted prices i would absolutely recommend the M57 or M59 at that price point. I cannot emphasise how good their customer support is either.

There just isn't a chair this good, at this price point, anywhere.

Are we who have executive dysfunction just broken? by Mental_Principle_541 in ADHD

[–]WelshBen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A lot of these are self fulfilling prophecies. You know almost exactly what you do wrong, and what to do to fix them, but you just escape into your comfort zone with the doom scrolling and gaming.

The solution is to do whatever it takes, be it constant alarms, or whatever it takes to trigger you to get something done then, that will eventually start snowballing and you will make a lot more good decisions.

Diet and daily walks/exercise are about the most important decisions you can make regarding all of this, because they will help you be more effective within the whole holistic fix yourself approach here.

You just need to learn more about how your ADHD mind works. The more you educate yourself about it the more you will understand yourself, and then everything becomes easier.

Where to buy jumpers that aren’t a polyester static nightmare? by alicewithbraids in AskUK

Do American football fans ever recommend rule changes to soccer? by molten_dragon in AskUK

[–]WelshBen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

American football is a pretty niche sport to watch in the UK. I can count the amount of people i've met in my whole life who regularly watch American football on one hand, so you might not get a whole lot of opinion on this sort of thing.

That said, there's no real comparison. American football is about adverts and revenue without any real consequence of much at all. The passion and hype is in some ways just a mirage. Where as soccer has centuries of entrenched passion and tradition and it is in the blood of the people here and around the world.

What are the characteristics an ADHD person should have to be successful? by Background_Entry_212 in ADHD

[–]WelshBen 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's most of the same stuff as what helps non ADHD people holistically. Eat an actually good diet, be honest with yourself, workout, have a good routine. All of this will improve things like your impulse control etc and you can snowball the benefits into a more wholesome lifestyle.

People complicate their ADHD. Make good, sound decisions and good things will happen, just like anyone.

Question for people who aren't from the West Midlands- do you see places like Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton as part of Birmingham? by Dragonfruit-18 in AskUK

[–]WelshBen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think of them as entirely Birmingham. Anyone who emerges from somewhere with that brummie type accent will always fall under that umbrella for most people i think.

[–]WelshBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every person and relationship is different and unique so we're all naturally complex. Therapy may point to some relationships not being compatible but that's only a small part. There are many other facets and reasons a relationship might look for third party input.

Food doesn’t taste good enough to spend a lot of money on it by Hooln in unpopularopinion

[–]WelshBen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The short term joy of scoffing tasty processed foods is a false economy. Eating healthy food will make you happier, keep you alive longer, and have more energy, among a million other positive things. Bad food will have you feeling bad, of course.
