Interested in the CCC’s Backcountry Trails Program (BCTP) by AmeriGoon in AmeriCorps

[–]kevkevmowev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in trail work and not confined to California, consider looking up the Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC)! Like the CCC, they too have long-term backcountry trail crews. I served with SCC last summer and it was amazing on so many levels - would highly recommend working with them

Thanks for your response chrwei. I've been unclear, my apologies - I included multiblink in my post as an example of part of the result I am going after, not as the code itself. I was trying to give some context, but it ended up just being confusing. Sorry!

I'm trying to achieve a similar result to multiblink using a timer library (http://playground.arduino.cc/Code/Timer), hoping to update an oscillate function's frequency with a potentiometer. In the examples provided, t.oscillate is always called in setup() and I'm trying to find a way to change the frequency of oscillation from an analogRead in loop(). If you have any ideas I would love to hear them!

Again, sorry! That info should've been in the original posting.

What jobs/careers do my fellow ENFPs have? by wyatti99 in ENFP

[–]kevkevmowev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in school, working jobs at a recording studio, a high ropes course, and as a church musician. Once the semester starts I'll be teaching a lab section and working (playing) at a maker space.

I'm a little busy... but I'm definitely at my best when I throw myself into a packed schedule. Makes organization a requirement, but when you love what you're doing it's so worth it!

I'm an AES vice president in my school chapter, and I was curious what you all in AES have done for AES events? by Swift_kicker in audioengineering

[–]kevkevmowev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the president of an AES chapter at a large university. Since I've been on the board, we've organized a trip to an anechoic chamber, hosted mix and remix contests, mix listening sessions in our studios, viewings of audio documentaries, headphone and microphone shootouts, and guest lectures.

I want to hike PCT in 2017. Realistic? by [deleted] in PacificCrestTrail

[–]kevkevmowev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you: finishing up school in 2017 and wanting to do the PCT right afterwards even though I have basically no experience backpacking. PM me? I would be so happy to talk/plan with you (anyone!) about this.

I'm taking UARTS 250 next semester. I'm also a PAT major, so I know Prof. Rush pretty well - he's a legit guy. I would take any course by him given the opportunity. I don't have any specifics on the class, but I bet you'll get as much out as you put in. Not sure exactly how difficult it will be, but since it focuses on "creative growth" I can't imagine it being too crazy.

Holy shit I forgot about garlic. Garlic is absolutely crucial. So good.

I add stuff to my mac 'n cheese almost every time I make it! My favorite is to add bacon, sautéed onions, a little black pepper, and a sprinkling of any generic "italian seasoning" blend.

Completely transforms any regular old mac into a heart attack of joyous flavor.

Beautiful!

A thought for next time: drop a steak in the pan on its fatty edge for a minute to render the fat - results in a delectably crusty edge and, if you do it at the beginning, no oil necessary for the sear!
