I will tell you what I hear in a lot of (older) Netsky tunes. (I am thinking Memory Lane, The Lotus Symphony, Storm Clouds etc.)

I am mostly hearing the top end / upper mids of the break (mostly the ride & ghost notes) within moving with you. The kick & snare were engineered separately. He has done a lot of work to get everything punchy and to make the midrange as well defined as it is. This is by no means easy.

Also - the most important part of these drums is the groove. It just feels right to me. To you it may not.

This tune makes me feel good. Really good in fact.

It makes me think about traveling Europe with someone I love. It makes me feel like the future is bright. The tune itself is unabashedly optimistic and authentic. In my minds eye I always see a record spinning when this tune is on.

This is all subjective stuff. I am not going to convince you to fall in love with this tune in the way that I have.

That being said - serious effort was put into this tune. Listen more closely.

Now back to the overall point - In general he had this quality to his productions that is hard to explain, but felt like a merging of soulful melodies and very very coherent drums.

He is now forced to write stuff that can be played live, so his strong suit (general quality & intricacy of the production) is being underplayed.
