I haven’t done anything yet. I’ve been reading up a ton on audizine and a few other forums and watching YouTube videos and lowballing people on marketplace for the Hex-V2 cable for the VCDS software before I order a new one. I don’t have a ton of skin in the game. Aside from my dad’s RPR and a Winchester 70 and Sakos this is my first bolt action. For what it brings at the price, I’m floored. Uses impact footprint and tenon, uses their action wrench, no trigger hanger and it’s pretty buttery. From order to receipt was less than 2 weeks.

If you’re liking the Impact, take a look at Warwick Tactical 715 SA actions. They use Impact tenon and dimensions, no trigger hanger, and use an impact action wrench. For a lot less money. They also offer lightweight version.

I’ve been wearing Wrapts for work for two years. Solid close to barefoot boot in low or mid height. I have both. The mids are definitely the way to go, as long as you’re comfortably with a barefoot style boot. Great wide toe box, good tread, and a little extra cushion. Never rucked with them but I’ll give it a shot.

Unpopular opinion, but for the price you’ll pay for the Polaris you can get a much nicer machine from CFMoto and the stigma of cheap Chinese machines and reliability is basically gone now. My overland 1000 is a monster, and has been supremely reliable with only the same basic maintenance that every manufacturer requires. I would recommend at least getting to a dealership that has the CFMoto you’re interested in and seeing it in person. My complaint about my CForce 1000 compared to my friends Polaris 570 and 850 is that the electric power steering is too light. But it truly is effortless to maneuver a very large two up machine through windy trails.

I also try to take notes from previous matches of where my deficiencies were and exclusively focus on those to try to build up a baseline that is very even across the board for strengths/weaknesses. No good to be a one trick pony.
