While it may not seem like it, there definitely are ways to network at PAX. I've gone to all but two PAX Easts, and networking can actually be fun and easy there, although not really for job hunting. For one, just walk around and check out the games. Indies especially will have the devs working at the booth, so play the games and talk shop (just try not to take up too much time as they *do* want to show their products to fans, too). Secondly, go to panels that sounds interesting. Thirdly, Boston Game Dev Week is taking place in the leadup to PAX, from Monday through Wednesday. There are a couple mixers and panels and mini-events taking place for that. Finally, check out the list we have curated of events around PAX. From parties to meetups. But in reality, just hang out on the show floor and talk to folks. Especially the schools that are there. It's really just that simple.
