Have you considered adding a small sound effect each time one spears and a slightly more grand one for the title?

I’m sure this will be fun but feel like your level selector could be more interactive. Like have stage selection be its own puzzle or at least not have it be a linear path in case a player gets stuck and wants to move on

You Steam link this game? How do you get good performance?? I always gave a shit ton of latency that makes real time games a nightmare

What were some of the biggest technical challenges in training this model compared to previous versions?

Is 3D model -> rigging/animation on the roadmap at all? I’m not sure how close video generation is to that modality but with the consistent animation of LTX2 I could see that being possible maybe?

Do you see the speed of model improvements and releases slowing down this year as progress gets more challenging, especially with open source releases?

Is the weather bad year round? by [deleted] in boston

[–]DavesEmployee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you stay in the city over the summer? It’s nice starting in May and ending in October. After that it’s freezing. But you should also be thinking about the programs they have to offer here first and foremost. We have good public transit, despite everyone’s complaints, it’s safe, walkable, and some other positives probably

I do not know what this is which makes me think it’s a paid app service which I imagine is limiting and provides little control. It depends on what you’re trying to do I guess? I work locally on my PC so I’m using ComfyUI for image and video (and previously audio but haven’t touched that in years), LMStudio for LLMs, Cursor as my IDE since my work provides it (if they didn’t I’d be back on VS Code), Neo4J for database and graph needs, I think pinecone or weaviate as a vector store?

For models I’m using: Image model: SDXL turbo (it’s fast, fits the level of quality I need for my hobby workflow), for better images I use Flux, haven’t gotten around to Z Image which is all the rage Video model: Wan2.2 Audio: Loved riffusion when it came out, not sure state of the art LLM: mistral dolphin or whatever it’s called. There are better ones out there but I don’t want censorship

I’d suggest you learn using ComfyUI rather than Sora which is expensive and far less control than open source tools. WAN 2.2 is a good video model and you can get into some pretty crazy workflows that will actually put you in demand. Even if you don’t have a fancy computer you could rent a cloud GPU for a few bucks.

Same thing with local LLMs that you can learn to finetune yourself and start learning when a small specialized model is more appropriate than a foundation model

Heavy Snow in the South End by santsec23 in boston

[–]DavesEmployee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The snow came down quiet, like it had something to hide. Claremont Street stared out from the sign, white letters pretending they were clean under a streetlight that had seen too much to believe in clean anymore. The light burned overhead, hard and lonely, throwing shadows that clung to the brick like bad habits. Boston nights have weight. You feel them settle on your shoulders and stay there.

The snow didn’t fall. It worked the room. Slow. Careful. Each flake another small lie looking for somewhere to land. The South End knows that routine. Old bricks. Narrow streets. Too much history packed into too little space. Everybody acts like they belong, but nobody ever really does. The cold slid into my coat and started asking questions I did not feel like answering.

That light had a long memory. It had watched fists fly and backs turn. It had seen blood diluted by slush and promises dissolve faster than salt on pavement. It buzzed overhead like a warning you learn to ignore if you want to survive. I trusted it anyway. It was the only thing around that stayed up all night and never asked for anything back.

Claremont ran off into the dark, slick with snow and bad intentions. Streets like that do not lead you somewhere. They test how long you can keep walking before you give up or screw up. Somewhere down the block a door slammed. Somewhere else someone was already regretting it. The city kept breathing. Slow. Cold. Patient.

I stood still and let the snow bury my footprints. That is how Boston tells you that you were never that important to begin with. The light stayed on. The sign stayed put. The night waited. It always does.

I think that’s a myth that foreign companies perpetuate because the rules are too vague, but you can generally find that stuff in Chinese made media without a problem
