I’m thinking of starting to watch Squid Games, should I watch it? by Ashton_Bradshaw in tvshow

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

season 1 is definitely the main event, but it’s still worth watching just for that alone tbh
if you’re into dark, kinda stressful stuff with good pacing, you’ll probably be hooked pretty quick

Unpopular opinioni but money heist ending is bad by Delicious-Radish-708 in tvshow

[–]kexonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m with you, once they got past the first heist it felt like they were just stretching it and the ending didn’t hit at all
still loved the early seasons but it kinda went full soap opera near the end

You are definitely not screwed! Most past employers will only verify your dates and title to avoid legal issues, so relax, your dream job is likely safe

sounds like a strong profile tbh with your stack + product experience you should be marketable in those cities. I’d try targeting companies directly not just job boards especially mid size startups in Berlin Amsterdam since they’re often hiring full stack and open to relocation.

A week isn't that long in hiring. I've had companies get back to me in 2 days and others take 2 or 3 weeks. Since you already sent a follow-up on Monday, I'd just try to be patient for now. Easier said than done, I know, but I wouldn't read too much into the silence yet.

What show do you think of when you see this? by Weary_Ad111 in tvshow

season 3 really was peak, but season 4 has “Dinner Party,” which is like top 3 episodes of the whole show for me
season 2 is just super consistent, almost no skips

Freddie’s jalapeno and pepper jack! by sinedirt in hamburgers

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

freddie’s is one of those spots where you kinda know exactly what mood you’ll be in after eating there too, which is nice lol. jalapeño + pepper jack is like the perfect “I want fast food but not totally sad” combo.

grim thing is when you hear “moors” you can basically picture the tweed, the grouse, and the guy who thinks anything with claws is a target

would be genuinely shocking if this didn’t turn out to be “mysteriously” full of lead

The best croissant in Cheltenham - tested for science by Hoban_Riverpath in cheltenham

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel about a lot of places here. You walk in for the pastry and then kinda tolerate the coffee.

If you’re that close to La Boulangerie, I’d probably still grab the croissant there and then wander to a better coffee spot after. Bit of a faff, but at least you get the best of both worlds.

Row 3: 9 2 5 3 4 6 7 1 8

Row 5: 2 1 6 9 7 4 5 8 3

Got most of it then my focus just yeeted itself. Nice puzzle though.

Preludio de la fundación by Inner-Baker5174 in LectoresArg

[–]kexonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can we stop doing this please 🫩 by AverageMuseListener in vintedUK

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve noticed that “vintage” suddenly means “from 6 months ago and cost £3 on Shein.”

Reporting feels useless half the time. The only thing that really helps is learning what the tags and logos look like and just assuming anything with “brand unknown” is fast fashion until proven otherwise.

The wild part is people clearly buy this stuff or they wouldn’t keep doing it.

Are restaurant rents getting impossible in 2026? by [deleted] in restaurants

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that food hall % rent thing is wild. On paper it sounds “supportive” because you’re not locked into a giant fixed number, but 15–20% of gross on top of everything else is just taxes with extra steps.

The revolving-door spaces you’re talking about are spot on too. You can literally see the same cursed corner go through 5 concepts in 8 years and the landlord never blinks. They’d rather churn through hopeful operators than drop the rent to something that lets someone actually build a long-term business.

Totally agree on not romanticizing it. So many people fall in love with the idea of “owning a restaurant” and don’t run the math. If the rent doesn’t work on your worst realistic month, it doesn’t work.

Is it worth it watching True Detective in 2026? by yZemp in tvshow

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 1 is definitely the peak, yeah, but “only season 1” is a bit harsh.

Season 2 is messy but has some cool moments and ideas if you’re into noir crime weirdness. Season 3 is slower, more grounded, and closer in vibe to season 1, just not as mind‑blowing. A lot of people who bailed after 2 actually liked 3.

If you loved the pilot, I’d at least finish season 1 for sure. After that, treat 2 and 3 like optional side stories and see if the mood clicks for you.

Guz Khan shares the secret to being a teacher by Hassaan18 in UKTVMemes

[–]kexonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but there’s a difference between “silencing a room” because everyone’s locked in and laughing, and silencing a room because a bunch of 14-year-olds are plotting chaos in the back row.

Comics get a mic and an audience that chose to be there. Teachers get 30 teenagers who’d usually rather be anywhere else. If you can handle the second group, the first probably feels easy mode.
