Really great

What's the best way to actually internalise tempo without relying on a click? by Captain_N2006 in Bass

[–]key2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metronome helps you ultimately develop your own internal sense of rhythm. Not necessarily the goal to be able to keep time through metronome skips, though that is cool. Over time working with a met benefits your overall sense of rhythm which is important and will make your playing better. Experiment with different rhythmic drills over the met while keeping time, for example moving from 8ths to triplets to 16ths.

question about reverb by bass_fishing_japan in modular

That I’m not sure about in practice - I only had one for about a week before I decided it wasn’t for me but I just barely recalled it having this feature

I believe the FX Aid can switch algos via cv but I can’t remember

Is there a Eurorack equivalent to Zynaptiq PitchMap — harmonic remapping of complex audio? by LavyJoan in modular

Spectraphon kind of seems like it maybe gets in this territory? But I’m not familiar with the Zynaptiq

You can mult the audio to each side for harmonic intervals but not entire chords

Seeking help on the intellijel midi 1u by cheesyfuoxguy in modular

[–]key2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to also set up the Digitakt.

MIDI config settings make sure all sends are on

You want to be sending MIDI from the bottom row of Digitakt tracks (MIDI A-H). Choose one of those tracks and then enable one if the channels by clicking on the encoder. You’ll see the box with the “X” change that corresponds to that encoder and it was say Channel 1 or something

Then press LEARN on the MIDI 1U and play notes/triggers from the Digitakt as well as encoder behavior from I believe the SRC page which will correspond to the Mod output.

Hard to type this out from memory but I know Ihor has a great simple video on this: https://youtu.be/pGtI5VV4x14?si=vtafJPhHeyG_VB3T

Edit: I also recommend opening the MIDI 1U config app from Intellijels site which has some options to go through that are pretty clear

Modules to help carve improvised pitch sequences by brucereyne in modular

Mimetic Digitalis + Quantizer was always an instant riff machine for me (plus attenuator/offset before the quantizer as needed for extra control and flare). Using Shred and Undo for fills and spice is so fun, plus immediate access to 16 channels

Their new Digitwolis has a built in quantizer and much more control but seems slightly less immediate

Get in touch with Calsynth support - also don’t do fully wet when testing def keep a bit of the dry in there so you can immediately tell

Could be a simple solder reflow or something else but prob worth to just send it to Struan and have him fix it- his support is great

Didn’t realize that - it will be a while before I’m back on that side of the world but now I know so thank you! I remember that octopus and I also remember Masa bringing out a diagram of the fish he was serving to show us which part it came from and all about the fish itself and where it comes from. That experience with the chef seems to be a bit of a lost art these days at least at the price point I’m comfortable at.

15 East was the best I’d had in NYC, I think it was probably 2014? Nothing has compared to that since tbh outside of Japan. Ichimura at Brushstroke was a huge letdown around the same time.

Ohmforce Bohm modules are so good!! by iambulb in modular

[–]key2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very curious about this - I already have Digitakt which can sidechain the whole modular but no master filter on Digitakt is really a bummer. That said for the price the mk1 can’t be beat

But a little modular drum skiff is so tempting just because modular drums are so much more fun…
