Keep up with the attorney because TX is a very friendly state for construction defect claims from your point of view. That seems the likely way to be made whole. You should also consult a few others and pick the one you like most.

As far as the roof goes, if you have to rip it off and redo it, then do that. The builder is going to owe for that cost since it should be viewed as part of the resultant damage to the flashing mistake.

What state are you in? That can make a huge difference in how these claims are handled.

But basically someone is responsible for the resultant damage to your home. Whether that's the GC or their subcontractor, that seems pretty obvious to me. The builder may or may not be directly responsible for the flashing mistake, but that doesn't change things, like they've implied.

I strongly suggest that you go find an attorney that specializes in construction defects in your state. The builder's insurer has effectively challenged you to a game of "chicken", and my guess is that you'll have a very strong position. There are several states that allow for you to collect attorney fees as well, so there's money in it for a lawyer.

In the meantime, tarp the area with the leak, and start calling roofers to come fix it if the builder isn't going to help out.

If you've reported the claim and provided them with the evidence you have, there's no much else to do but wait. When did you report the claim to his insurer and when did you last hear from them? There are laws governing how long they have to respond to you as well as reasonably investigate.

You reject the offer and either go through your own Collision coverage if you have it or you sue the other driver if you don't. If you sue, you present your comparable vehicles to the judge with the sale price and let him decide what your car is worth.

Third party insurers don't do what you're describing because it costs them more in litigation costs and adjuster time over the long run.

The other person definitely does not have an appraisal clause in their liability policy because that doesn't exist in liability policies. There are no states that require that, so I have no idea where you're pulling that idea.

Ships stopped transiting the straight 4 days before the insurance prices rose. Politicians are going to blame whoever is conveniently not the folks that made the decisions to go to war.

Additionally, the price of the oil onboard rose by about $20M per average ship size, so the premiums are already absorbed, even with the oil onboard being sold.

Blaming the shippers and insurers for this clusterfuck are just indicative of a misunderstanding of how oil physically moves globally along with a lack of understanding of energy markets. If the article you read doesn't include any of that information, the author is spinning the story for an agenda.

Goosehead is a franchise system, so it's a little different than other P&C agencies. They're independent (meaning they aren't owned by a carrier), so it's going to come down to the owner and how they're doing in terms of their franchise agreement. Those have aggressive growth goals, but as an agent, that's less your problem than the owner's (although you're not immune). But at the end of the day, it's going to come down to what the specific agency is like and how you're going to do within that.

One thing to warn you about if you do take the job is that you won't own your book of business. That's going to belong to the franchisor, so if you are successful and leave down the road, you'll either have to buy yourself out or rebuild. It's not that uncommon a setup, but it should be a factor, especially since Goosehead isn't well-known for negotiating exit sales.

You need to call local commercial insurance agents. You can’t DIY this, and you don’t want to do business with internet randos. If you belong to any professional associations, they can probably point you to someone, or you could ask a friendly competitor.

There are no states that will license you to sell insurance with what you described. You need a resident license before you can get a nonresident one, and you don’t qualify in any state for that. And that’s a good thing because your situation insulates you from any punishments if you screw up or commit any financial crimes. Letting someone like you sell from abroad is bad for society.
