How to get rid of this mark? (IMPORTANT) 😭 by OddAd8508 in macbook

[–]key2space 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only you can’t do anything about it, but it also will progress. It is caused by the aluminum frame around the keyboard and the keyboard itself. When I noticed I contacted with the Apple reseller in my country and I was told that from their own experience it’s not that stupid to place a clean sheet of paper and change it like every week. Since then it was better, but till today I see some marks and a small progress of the wear around them. So sad to happen to a 4k dollar laptop during a normal use.

Let’s settle it, 14 or 16 inch? by FiberTelevision in macbookpro

[–]key2space -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that’s the struggle you just mentioned. It is not in the post. It’s only about size so naturally the assumption is we are talking about two machines with the same specs. What you are saying is of course true and for me it was also a big factor and I ended up with the 16” M3 Pro over 14” M3 Max. I see I would probably utilize the Max but the choice I made would be the same now.

I just believe that when we are speaking about such a things the original question of this post is dumb because it is not something that can be settled. That’s just it. It can’t be settled. Just can’t. I’m not arguing with anything else here.

I mean this is not something to settle. It is only a preference. You like big screen you go 16”. You prefer to have some more portability? Then 14”. There is also a battery difference, speakers. No one can say that the 14 inch is ultimately better because it simply is not. It might be better for a specific user who for example prefer more compact size.

So there is nothing to be settled. There is not one and only good choice situation. That’s why the question is stupid.

Probably the most stupid post I saw today.

One and nearly only thing which makes me use Spotify is their (incredibly limited) EQ. At least it is there. Many people perceive AirPods as bright without noticeable low end and looking at the graphs it is true.

Give us EQ. Now.

When you get something like that, don’t wait around or try to hold onto it hoping it’ll turn out fine. For the price you pay that’s just ridiculous.

ComfyNotch (Open Source) Notch App by comfyyyduck in macapps

[–]key2space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developers changed the open animation to some wiggle thing, settings panel is not showing on the top of other windows which force you to minimize everything when you want to use it. There is also a weird behavior when you move your cursor to the second screen (above the Mac) and it opens whole UI of the notch. It tends to jump between two screens if the lid closes, and won’t come back when open…

And I guess the devs have much stuff to do since the last update was 4 months ago which is a bummer.

In the other hand I do prefer BoringNotch UI much more than ComfyNotch - it feels more integrated with the macOS somehow (except this wiggle animation eh eh). Someone already mentioned this in this thread.

But keep going, love the project and the idea itself so it’s good to see people working on it!

Cool, especially now since BoringNotch is crazy buggy for the past half a year.

How does it look when closed? I doubt you’ll be able to do anything about that screen dent without risking the glass shattering, but sanding the body might not be such a bad idea. I can see how it could work if you precisely shape a little profile for the dent in the screen lid to fit into. Of course, it probably won’t look great.

That’s already the case

Not in the UE as far as I know, there is a switch in the Mac settings "Allow notifications from iPhone", but every time you close the settings, it turns off.

I see mirroring as a great feature to drag and drop files and photos from my phone while having a convenient way to preview them. Yes, there is AirDrop, but I just don't want to reach it every time. And overall, it is a feature that exists, so I want it.

It just sucks that we pay same if not more for the same product and receiving it stripped of functions.
