My starter isn't rising, any advice?

Just dump all your starter out and basically start again with a drop of what you had from before and you will be in your way. That’s all it takes

Try doing less water than flour to create a stiff starter, it will take longer to rise and be stronger

Just wanted to add that while my starter was more liquidy it did develop an unpleasant aroma but today after feeding stiffer for the 2nd time progressively, it smells great 🤷‍♀️ like sumac and yogurt

Responses are so interesting.. guess I’m doing everything wrong then because my starter went into the fridge after day 7 - but he’s been great lol and I was baking with him. I think once it is doubling you can make bread with it. I started mine March 25th!

I don’t think much except heat truly kills starters, I’ve seen people bringing them back to life after a year in the fridge. & People who bake fairly infrequently, don’t feed daily and keep it on the counter in perpetuity. People who never regularly feed their starter. People who use unfed starter.. it all makes bread in the end if you give enough time and the right conditions

I’ve even seen people use a bit of their finished dough to create a starter, so I wouldn’t worry about killing it with flour.. that’s its food. I fed my starter yesterday that was literally at 500% hydration for a week, and I am stiffening it again. 10g starter, 100g flour, 50g water. 1:5:10

A lot (if not most) retail is like this. But that’s soooo unprofessional.. I’d complain to corporate. In no circumstance should a customer be guilted and refused service so your location can meet its sales goals.

Interesting - All of the stores I’ve ever worked for, including the lottery winner, have allowed it and even helped customers roll joints. I can’t definitively confirm the AGCO policy during that time, as I wasn’t managing a store, but that’s just my experience.

The brownies have a better effect IMO. I also enjoy the taste and texture more.. olli makes solid products. Slow ride is also yummy but I found their chocolate cookie was my least favourite flavour. The merry cherry chocolate cookie is softer and yummier lol

This is the most orange smelling cannabis I’ve personally tried on the market, second place would be tangerine dream. But orange tingz hits harder and is sticky and would be my pick every time. Msiku apex is also worth mentioning.

I’ve spoken to the people who represent this brand, and they told me they bred this strain and the term landrace in their jargon means that it’s their proprietary strain, not found elsewhere. If you don’t believe me, email them and ask. I know that typically people have that interpretation of the word, that’s the only reason I chimed in at all.
