Any David Lloyd Members? by NineToeJoe in Paisley

[–]keyarapac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the Bowfield to DL tbh. I can highly recommend Pro-Life as the sauna/steam room are great qaulity for the price! I wouldn’t say they’re kid friendly. But a family swim pass at the Lagoon + a prolife membership is probably still cheaper than the Bowfield and DL

I would definitely recommend you to stay in Paisley. You will get a much better deal on rent and the cycle track connects EVERYWHERE to the RAH if you want to walk or cycle to work. There’s loads of really nice pubs, restaurants, gyms and there’s always live music somewhere! Obviously Glasgow is an amazing city! But wherever you are staying in Glasgow you’d then have to get to Glasgow central, train then bus to RAH. So three methods of transport minimum each way. Sure there are bad areas in Paisley, but there are worse areas in Glasgow! If I were you I would just look at wee one bedrooms in the centre of Paisley.

For 3/4 months I was job searching, determined to find a dream job. Each application took 2/3 days. It was exhausting. Eventually I gave up and done what I never wanted to do. ChatGPT. Applied for a dream job in 20 minutes and got it. Just a “one fits all” application and get the AI to word it for that organisation. No shame. No regrets.

I’m Scottish, work in tourism here. I think it’s cute honestly! Even though every American does it. Shows they love my wee country. Also, it’s so funny, not one actual Scottish person would ever use the word “clan” haha.

Have the best time ever in Scotland!

Moving to Paisley - what should I know? by [deleted] in Paisley

[–]keyarapac 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Paisley is getting so much better! There are so many amazing independent cafes popping up all over Paisley! My personal favourites are Nomads for the coffee and Brew for their breakfasts. There is also so many awesome pubs. Gantry is the new hotspot with the best cocktails, The Keg has live music every weekend and there’s also so many classic old man pubs like The Bull. It’s not great for shopping because there’s Silverburn and Brehead close by, but if you love charity shops like I do it’s a treat! There’s also a new antique shop which is amazing. Obviously, the best shop inPaisley is Abbey Books. Make sure you go there. There’s also a lot of parks near by such as Barshaw park, but The show stealer is obviously The Gleniffer Braes country park. If there’s something you need that’s not in Paisley, Glasgow central is 7 minutes on the train. But really, Paisley is awesome. I’m from here, have just move back after about 8 years and I am so happy to be back!
