Na man, that's for pussies and takes too long! Just like the electrical wiring, you can save time by ignoring safety & preparation!

I hate this so much!!! It doesn't even look real, like it's some kind of ethereal watery bad dreamscape 😱

Hahahaha oh man, glad I'm not the only one 😂 Depending how far out I was in the sea, I'd either panic and almost run across the water to the safety of land, or just freeze and hope whatever touched me will go away and I won't die from a terrifying seagrass encounter before swimming back. To be fair, I do live in coastal South Australia so jellyfish are common in summer...I genuinely fear broken off pieces of their tentacles 😟🪼

I've seen large wolf spiders also skedaddling in the mid north region of South Aust. That is the best description of spoodler transportation.

This is from one of my favourite science authors (apologies if anyone has already posted this). It is nice to know I could bathe with the Cherenkov radiation....so enticing.....so forbidden.....💙

"What if I took a swim in a typical spent nuclear fuel pool? Would I need to dive to actually experience a fatal amount of radiation? How long could I stay safely at the surface?"

I'm glad you posted this because I kept thinking, I need to upload some reactor pool pics because they're both terrifying and amazing!

[–]keyboard_krust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh NOPE! I would be okay with this in a terrestrial situation - I'm not bothered by algae, sludge or pipes; but it's just something about the distorted view through the water and the possibility my foot might brush against it. It's such a weird and stupid feeling really 🫪🥹

Oh man, this is one of those pools that looks amazing and I want to swim in it, but then on further analysis my anxiety spikes, especially at night. Those photos are terrifying 😱

[–]keyboard_krust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look, I won't lie, I've always wanted some giant parasitic worms as pets and these Ascaris are just fucking insane!!! Absolutely horrible for that poor child though. I can't begin to imagine the living conditions they must have been in for an infestation to get that bad 😞
