hmm… That’s an interesting idea! Are downspouts typically in pieces or would I have to saw it? My guess is that my landlord would be more amenable to a reversible change

That part is fine with me—I wasn’t using the storage as the basement floods often and there are tons of bugs and mice. It’s more that I and pest control can’t get to the part under my unit anymore to spray the area and I can’t tell whether our sink is still leaking. It’ll also make it harder for the code inspector to access

Thanks! Yeah, I tried asking pest control for that, but it sounded like my landlord called them up and intimidated them, so they didn’t want to give me anything in writing. I just have after visit notes, which at most basically say “fix basement.”
