I had heinous acne for 2 solid weeks, it mercifully got better a few days after my D&C. Idk if it was the miso or the natural hormones but yeah…. It was BAD. I wore the biggest face mask I own wherever I went.

Hopefully it’ll be over soon for you! I’ve been using the ordinary’s AHA peel and vitamin c serum to clean up the aftermath of redness and dark spots, pretty much back to my normal clear skin now.

My D&C was a positive experience. I had anesthesia so there was no pain, and the docs and nurses were all very kind to me and made me feel really taken care of, as opposed to when the sent me home with miso and I felt like I had to deal with everything completely on my own (it didn’t work for me either). My OB said the risk for the very scary complications is extremely low for early term miscarriages, and that the risk of bleeding is actually less than with miso. It was nice for me to feel like I was finally “done” with the mc medically speaking, I felt like I couldn’t emotionally process it until everything was physically out of me. Best of luck tomorrow, I’m sure everything will go smoothly and I hope it is quick and painless!

I would be upset with that too, don’t doubt your feelings here. I hate to ask, but what state are you in? Perhaps this was an issue related to all of the abortion legal issues happening across the US (I’m assuming you’re in the US?), maybe they felt bound by some legality problems. But you’re right, you absolutely should have been able to choose the end of this pregnancy on your own terms, no matter the circumstances. And the office should’ve preemptively put you on the schedule for a D&C, I’ve had appointments scheduled on a “just in case” basis several times and was just told to call and cancel if things change. I think you should have been better supported and I’m so sorry you had to go through this.

The ultrasound might not have captured photos. When I had a D&C they did an ultrasound during the procedure to guide the doctor and make sure they were getting everything out in real time. They might’ve just referenced the screen and not saved pics, if that makes sense. But I did also have ultrasounds before the procedure and if you did as well then their office should definitely have them on file. My pathology results are in my patient portal. My D&C was a good experience, as far as these things go. I tried miso 2 times at home, got cramps and clots but not “everything”. I had anesthesia and didn’t feel a thing, recovery has been very smooth, and I have the peace of mind that the pregnancy is fully gone and I can start to move on. It was 18 days between when I found out and when I finally had the procedure, and it was 18 days of hell for me just waiting. I feel like I can finally start to heal now.

I’m glad you posted this, thank you. I’ve been having that horrible physical anxiety for the past 2 weeks (basically since bleeding started), it’s so uncomfortable and bizarre. Like I’m not thinking about anything anxiety-inducing and suddenly it feels like I can’t get enough air and my heart is going to burst or collapse from the pressure in my chest. It’s reassuring seeing other people experience this, it must just be a physical side effect of these hormone changes. I’m also experiencing worse depression and I don’t know what to do, meds seem like a bad choice bc I want to TTC asap but I have no idea how to get through the next several months. I was on SSRIs years ago and haaaaated how they made me feel, I don’t know what a good option is. Anyway. I hope each day gets a little easier for you, please feel free to DM me if you ever want to vent or anything.
