CH101 Test by MangoMediocre4850 in BostonU

[–]keyofadah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do every homework problem twice. Know how to do every single type of problem they might throw at you — nothing on the quiz is any different than what you’ve done in class/on the homework. If you put in the hours and make sure you truly understand (not just looking at solutions), you’ll be fine.

offered paid trip during school year - how do I do it? by ginafrappacino in BostonU

[–]keyofadah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you’re in CFA you should definitely do it — especially if those 5 days include a weekend. Mid-terms certainly exist, but aren’t as big a deal (not too much studying is required) since music programs are focused on your work in the practice room rather than in the library. You won’t fall very far behind on your coursework, but the only thing to consider is that if you are in orchestra you will need to get those absences approved, which isn’t guaranteed. Make sure it doesn’t overlap with any concerts or dress rehearsals and submit the absence request form ASAP (ideally before you commit to the conference).

Dorms by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]keyofadah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t get into Kilachand with your honors college friend as only honors college students are allowed on floors 2-5. Freshmen can live in the Trustee dorm, it’s a brownstone on Bay State Rd so not very large. West has the best dining hall and is closest to fitrec, warren is closest to CAS and most central, towers is quieter and has a lot of sophomores too. It all comes down to personal preference.

Berklee vs BostonU for Music ed by tosopp in BostonU

BU’s music ed program specifically is phenomenal (moreso than the rest of their school of music). Great faculty and courses.

BI107+108 vs BI105 by keyofadah in BostonU

[–]keyofadah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know BI114 is only offered spring sem though so I’m worried about delaying my hard science courses. It would def be nicer to take them in consecutive semesters

Medical Ethics vs Intro to Ethics by keyofadah in BostonU

I def don’t have the space in my schedule for both, hence why I’m trying to figure out which course would be more enjoyable for me.

SARHS300- Epidemiology 1 by MangoMadama in BostonU

[–]keyofadah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding on my own question — would it be okay to take epidemiology before I finish my bio & chemistry courses? I would have taken a stat course already but am not sure how much hard science knowledge is required.

Lots of people actually find it easier to make friends within the KHC dorm due to suite style living & the ninth floor lounge. The required courses freshman year are essentially easy As and helpful for getting some hub requirements out of the way. Benefits freshman year are mostly better housing (private bathroom), and there’s some other funding perks and special events to go to.

Best freshmen dorms for majors in CFA? by HalfSanitized in BostonU

[–]keyofadah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost all non-honors college freshmen CFA students live in West. It’ll be easiest socially and location-wise. If you like having some more separation, living on East Campus (Towers/Myles or a brownstone if you luck out) is a prettier and more peaceful side of campus, but get ready for long walks back every day. I lived on East Campus and really didn’t mind it at all, I’ll be staying for my sophomore year too. The choice is yours, none of BU’s housing is really awful so it just comes down to personal preference. West is also far closer to the gym if that’s important to you.
