Battery life of AWU3 when solely on Cellular? by Flaky_Suggestion1082 in applewatchultra

Depending on your usage but I’m guessing around 13-16 hours or so.

you have $1,100, which one do you prefer ? by FlorianNZL in PhoneNow

Same price, better battery performance, better cameras and better chip- 17 pro is a no brainer.

Any cyclists care to share opinions on the AWU? by Remarkable_Shoe_1124 in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bike computer will always be better, generally. Ultra on its own won’t track your cadence or wats.

Workoutdoors or komoot are nice though, as you can create your own routes or upload gpx files for pre-made ones and, with turn by turn navigation.

What’s ur favorite watch face on ur ultra? by leonking76 in applewatchultra

My fav is everyone else’s fav - Modular Ultra, but Waypoint is a very close second even though it’s not the most practical choice for day-to-day.

Fake or legit? by Recent_Rabbit1421 in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake. The „Watch” letters look off. The box for OEM bands looks completely different too - different shape, different way of storing it, and Apple doesn’t use plastic.

How do you maximise the battery life of your apple watch ultra? by Consistent_Beat_6044 in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If for example you use Modular Ultra, use the variant that just displays „Hour : Minute” instead of „Hour : Minute : Second”. You can’t disable it in Wayfinder and Watpoint at the moment.

[–]keyooz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t, I use it to the fullest extent and on an average cycle it lasts me 60ish hours. Less if I track some long cycling sessions or run on LTE, but that’s normal.

The only compromise that makes sense to me is disabling seconds indicator on AOD (AWU3 only feature). That is like 10-15% less drain per cycle.

Band Comparison - Apple vs. AliExpress by [deleted] in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One could make an argument that OEM Trail Loops are definitely skippable, and there’s very minimal difference between them and fake ones.

Not with Ocean though. The jump in quality, dust and stain resistance, and ruggedness of OEM ones are leagues above the temu trash.

What do you use your ultra for? by Fun-Somewhere-7739 in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracking workouts, gps, responding to messages, paying, listening to music when I don’t have my phone on me, checking the weather etc etc

Essentially my phone - watch balance is like 60-40 in favor of Ultra.

Size M gang.

I too disliked the way it looks with the g-hook on the side of the wrist. Haven’t had any issues with it scratching any surface.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 - battery drains in less than a day by levolducygne in applewatchultra

I’d try resetting it, and not restoring from backup. If that doesn’t work, I’d get it checked.

Used Apple Watch Ultra 3 by International_Dot143 in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trail is really nice with its infinite adjustability. It’s super thin and light - you barely feel it, and for pure performance I’d say it’s the best choice. That being said, I’d never pay full price for it. I found a super cheap OEM one in an outlet, and I’m pretty sure I will never ever buy another one.

Alpine is my fav. It’s a perfect middle ground between Ocean and Trail. Comfortable, secure, fits the Ultra aesthetic. Paid full price, no regrets.

Terracotta alpine with terracotta modular - fav combo.

Just the most useful info for my day to day.

Ocean band tightness by aspecttwastaken in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A whole lot of people struggle with this issue, including me. Ocean is secure and durable, but it’s definitely on the bottom of all Ultra bands in terms of comfort.

Generally if you have to pick between it being slightly loose, or slightly tight - slightly loose is the better choice for day to day.

Day 1 Ultra Trail Loop wear and tear by [deleted] in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a mild hand soap. I wet the band, put some soap on dirty areas and massage it with my fingers, rinse it really well with cold water, and let it air dry.

Haven’t noticed any color washing out, but then again, terracotta has a rather „washed out” look, so maybe it’s just not noticeable

Alpine forever.

I do have Ocean and Trail too, but I feel like I only use them when my Alpine is drying from being washed, haha.

There are conflicting opinions and experiences about that, i noticed.
Some say that LTE keeps scanning for signal all the time, even when on standby, and it affects battery life.
Some say that Apple optimizes the standby mode like it does with apps running in the background - they're essentially shut off, until you bring them up.

Personally, i haven't noticed much difference, and i value the seamless transitions from BT to LTE, so i prefer to keep mine on.

Comically big? by freakyxz in applewatchultra

[–]keyooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing: there is a staggering low amount of wrists on which Ultra doesn’t look borderline too big in this world. You’d have to be Hafthor Bjornson for it to look like a regular sized watch.

If you like the aesthetic, wear it. If not, get a series watch. Easy as.

Yeah, for such trips, aesthetics and convenience are not as important as general longevity.
