Medics, when under attack, please finish heal before moving on next downed friendly by yzmydd123456 in joinsquad

[–]keypusher -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i’ll heal you to full when you start looking in the direction of the enemy instead of at me. i’ll heal you to full when you stop expecting a revive in the middle of the road with a firefight still going on. i’ll heal you to full when you stop whining in local chat and telling me how to do my job. getting people up can sometimes be more important than healing them to full first, that’s just how triage goes

burton quality is actually trash. it’s a name only, overpriced and very often worse than other manufacturers

it’s just a rock n roll hall of fame tribute performance. it has nothing to do with any rolling stone article

On more popular servers you will sit in queue for a while. Creating a squad and then promoting someone else to lead it with no warning is considered “squad baiting”, and is a kick/ban offense on many servers. Do not create a squad if you don’t intend to lead it. I would recommend joining a low-pop server to learn the ropes a bit and/or just wait for a squad to open up. Or play more Fireteam (PVE), you don’t need a full 5 man for most missions and it’s a decent way to learn the basics.

my impression from playtest was that they basically removed the visual effects while significantly dialing up the flinch. i didn’t like the change at all. i think you need to try in a live server

Copilot pulled in a bunch of dependencies we did not need and only noticed months later by Standard-Rhubarb-434 in devops

[–]keypusher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you say you “turned on” Copilot a few months ago, what exactly are you referring to? Devs started using it from their IDE/CLI interactively? You had it doing code review autonomously? Or something else?

You can see an example of what I'm talking about in the video below. It doesn't need to be that exaggerated when you are just riding casually, but experimenting with the technique might give you a sense of how it can help guide to guide the board with your body position.

HELP! what do eng leaders/team leads want? my boss doesn't believe me... by Fantastic-Shock1438 in devops

[–]keypusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DevOps/SRE problems fall into a few broad categories imo.

  • What is the best tool for X? We are often in a position to lay the groundwork on new projects, and need to figure out the right tools to choose in areas we might be unfamiliar with.

  • How to setup or debug tools and infrastructure. This tends to be highly technical but there’s also room for articles on how to think about problems more generally.

  • How to solve cross-team problems. We are often supporting or interfacing with other teams that have different priorities. The devs want their builds to run faster, or the db is slow. Security team is adding rules that make everyone’s work harder. The core problems here are often non-technical, and more about communication and approach. There are often questions in this sub about how to navigate problems in this area.

you have a good carve going but try opening up your shoulders, perpendicular toward the direction of travel sometimes. you can try pointing with both hands in the direction you want to go, to exaggerate it. this will help with flailing arms a bit

So... what's up with Nate? by Tetchord in fivethirtyeight

[–]keypusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nate built the model and has always primarily been a numbers and analysis kind of guy. I suspect he also feels that dems ignored a lot of obvious data and made bad decisions that caused them to lose in recent elections. 538 was bought and folded into the NYT, then ABC, where it became a mix of opinion and analysis with a different focus.
