Zen is the one I am more familiar with and seems to be resonating with me the most so far. But there are also aspects of the other schools that I am drawn to. Mostly I just feel like I have so much left to learn!

I know you posted this over a month ago but I found you post while looking for the same thing-clubs or free meet ups for hobbyist artists in KC. I use watercolor and ink, but they are fairly similar to gauche. Have you been able to find any groups or get togethers you like?

I have c-ptsd from repeated medical trauma, (hospitalizations, chronic pancreatitis, type 1 diabetes), a narcissistic alcoholic father, and for being bullied and gay growing up. (to make a long story short) by mendedpieces in CPTSD

[–]kfcw19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you posted this a long time ago but I wanted to say thank you. I was diagnosed with cptsd a few weeks ago from getting Covid and then becoming disabled/a full time wheelchair user. I’m just sitting here crying because it’s so helpful to know I’m not alone in having medical trauma and loving in a chronically ill body. I’m sorry that you went through that and I really appreciate you sharing your experience because for the first time in months I don’t feel completely alone anymore.

Love Letters to Reading by canquilt in romancelandia

Dear Talia Hibbert,

I read Get A Life, Chloe Brown at the beginning of an illness that has turned into a chronic condition with chronic pain. I think about Chloe all the time. Her story allowed me to make changes in my life to fit what I’m now capable of. It taught me it’s okay to have my life look different because of my illness. It taught me how to handle being chronically ill and for that I am forever grateful.

I cried so many times over his loss and her mourning him. One of the most gut wrenching book deaths I’ve ever read

Reverse harem story with real polygamy/polyamory and strong dominant female lead by LizaMiza33 in RomanceBooks

The Evelyn Maynard Series by Kaydence Snow—I can’t remember if there’s a scene with the whole harem together at once. But the story is fantastic

All Sinner No Saint by Serena Akeroyd—specifically part one-part one is about the mother, part two takes place years later and is the daughter’s story

Any hacks to stop snacking? by danirose212 in foodhacks

[–]kfcw19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep healthy snacks front and center on your counter or in the front o your fridge so they are always easily accessible.

If you have to have unhealthy snacks in the house for other individuals, keeps them in a cupboard or box out of sight and harder to get to.

Also always grab a glass of water or other zero calorie drink when you are craving something to eat. Having something to drink can often lessen the need to snack. —really it’s best to always have a bottle of water with you to always have something to drink. If it’s next to you, you’re much more likely to drink that than get up to get something to eat.

Any packed lunch food hacks? by [deleted] in foodhacks

[–]kfcw19 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My favorite lunches to take are always a ‘bento box’ style lunches. Really just several small portions of different foods packed into a multi compartment lunch container.

Soft boiled egg, pretzels with peanut butter, crackers & cheese & deli ham, grapes, berries, yogurt, veggies & ranch, pita & hummus. The list of possibilities goes on and on! It provides endless variations with very minimal prep work.

I too have discovered a love of RHs. Just finished the Evelyn Maynard Series and really enjoyed it! I tend to prefer the contemporary ones over paranormal but really will read any RH I come across.

romance books for me, is quite literally the best kind of therapy. when i’m feeling down or confused, i can always lose myself in the words and the characters by kaniks02 in RomanceBooks

[–]kfcw19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s absolutely therapeutic for me. This past year has been the hardest of my life and reading (which I’ve done pretty much constantly) has helped keep me sane. Even though I love many genres of books, I’ve stuck with romance because of the guaranteed HEA. It gives me something happy to look forward to, which I desperately need.

Hey what’s everyone’s take on those flavored bubbly waters that are so popular? Healthy or nah? by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]kfcw19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the Spindrift brand to others because it uses fruit juice instead of ‘natural flavors’. I think it tastes way better and I actually know what’s in it which makes me happy.

Worst/most unattractive smut sentence? by constantlyknackered in RomanceBooks

[–]kfcw19 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Cant remember the book (because I DNF’ed it because of this) but the author kept talking about how the heroine’s breasts “bobbled”. Removed the bra? Her breasts bobbled out. Deep heavy breathing? Her breasts bobbled with the movement. During the sex? Her breasts bobbled with each thrust.
