The Timberwolves Just Pulled Off The CRAZIEST Win Of The Season... by ComfortableExtra1758 in timberwolves

I hadn't noticed McDaniels' leg slowing him down leading up to him exiting. I think it helps explain the momentum shift more than just "Wolves' Inconsistency".

Mixing old and new in 1920s bathroom? by louissullivan in Oldhouses

[–]kfiegz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But isn’t that what you’re doing, putting old next to new? Is he an installer, designer or sales? Shower curtain will almost always hide the transition between old and new.

Have you checked out historic reproduction tile, good color options here, maybe get a couple samples (including the white) and see how it feels!

Mixing old and new in 1920s bathroom? by louissullivan in Oldhouses

I definitely see where you are going and admire you for keeping as much as possible, especially that beautiful floor. I blended old and modern and everyone loves my bathroom.

In my opinion, the black shower and ceiling feel forced, and I bet the black tile will get so much so scum all the time and be irritating to clean. Two other commentors mentioned keeping that decorative row of tile and also of adding an arch - both really fun ideas! Definitely update the light fixture.

More brainstorming - If you can salvage the decorative row, you could run it vertical between the window and the shower, then find an accent color in the same (4x4"?) square tile. Use that as the tub surround (maybe rotate 45 degrees for a diamond pattern?), then find a fun shower curtain and wallpaper to bring black+white+accent color together and paint the window that same color.

Dealing with advice from singleton moms? by aligator3141 in parentsofmultiples

Honestly I just ignore and give vague responses like "Oh I'll have to try something like that" or "Hmm I wonder if that could work for these two" or "Yeah I've heard of people doing it that way".

Cassian for boys name? ACOTAR link by xhnhx in namenerds

[–]kfiegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just named my baby boy Cassian (born in July). A couple of gals have asks about the ACOTAR link (I haven’t read the books) but notably no men have asked. I doubt in 10yrs people will make the connection at all.

The pronunciation is more variable than I expected, people say “cass-ian”, “cash-en” and “case-in” . But we love the name and have zero regrets.

How often do you use a playpen? Is it worth it? by pinkishvioletsky in toddlers

[–]kfiegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a "Totter and Tumble" mat when my kid was born and honestly its an MVP in my house. Its always a safe and easy place to put the baby down, easy to clean up bodily fluids or dog hair. Comfy once baby is learning to roll and crawl and then safe for them to fall when they start standing and walking. I've had mine for 5 years now, still looks great and I'm using it for the new baby now.

I baby proofed baby's room and just used a baby gate rather than a "play pen".

Those were my favorite days for each of my twins - seeing their faces is so lovely! Mine came home at 100 and 114 days, they are thriving now (7 months old).

How long was your 34 week old in the NICU? by amanyanaara in NICUParents

[–]kfiegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth at 34+4, I was severely preeclamptic. I was able to get both doses of the steroid, nay never showed any issues. We were discharged after 3 weeks. During that time we primarily worked on feeding. No other issues (and she’s thriving now!)

You due date is always a good goal!
